Bloomberg•Princeton, NJ
•$140,000 - $295,000

About The Position

Bloomberg is seeking a Funds Product Manager to help define and execute the product strategy for public funds. The role supports a foundational fund-data layer across Bloomberg Terminal, Enterprise products, and portfolio and risk solutions. The work includes strengthening coverage of mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, closed-end funds, and other publicly offered investment vehicles; improving transparency into holdings and exposures; refining fund taxonomy and classification; and connecting funds with share classes, managers, securities, benchmarks, flows, fees, risk, and performance data. The Product Manager will identify and prioritize data gaps; develop initiatives for taxonomy, identifiers, entity linkage, classification, search, and discoverability; and partner with Engineering and Data teams on scalable data models and APIs. The role owns a phased roadmap and helps ensure fund data is useful across research, screening, due diligence, portfolio construction, benchmarking, performance attribution, risk analytics, and distribution workflows. Success is measured through coverage, freshness, accuracy, linkage quality, discoverability, adoption, workflow engagement, and business impact.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of product management or relevant experience in public funds, asset management, financial data, or investment workflow products.
  • Strong knowledge of asset owner and fund investor workflows, including screening, fund selection, benchmarking, due diligence, portfolio construction, monitoring, and manager evaluation, and their relationships with asset managers, consultants, distributors, and other market participants.
  • Understanding of mutual fund and ETF workflows, including research, comparison, portfolio construction, exposure analysis, performance evaluation, risk analysis, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Experience working with complex datasets and sourcing, mastering, normalizing, and linking data across funds, share classes, managers, securities, benchmarks, holdings, and corporate entities.
  • Familiarity with fund structures, domiciles, regulatory classifications, share-class attributes, fees, distributions, holdings, assets under management, flows, performance metrics, and risk concepts.
  • Experience building or managing data products, platforms, screening tools, or APIs used by investment professionals, wealth managers, distributors, or enterprise clients.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous user problems into clear product requirements, phased roadmaps, and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
