About The Position

Lightning AI is seeking a Product Manager focused on Growth to drive the self-serve adoption of their platform across thousands of new developers weekly. This role involves combining consumer product thinking, growth experimentation, and empathy for technical users. The Product Manager will own the entire journey of developer discovery, trial, and activation on the Lightning AI platform. This includes optimizing sign-up flows, onboarding, scaling A/B tests, and designing feedback loops, working collaboratively with product, engineering, design, and data teams. The position is part of the Product Team and reports to the Senior Director of Product. It is a hybrid role based in New York City or San Francisco, requiring two days per week in the office. The salary range is $160,000 - $210,000.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience in high-growth, fast-paced environments.
  • 2+ years in consumer/developer products with a trial to paid motion.
  • Bias for action and shipping, paired with the ability to think strategically.
  • Proven track record running A/B tests and using data to drive decisions.
  • Strong analytical skills; comfortable with product instrumentation, metrics, and dashboards.
  • Sincere curiosity for the AI/ML space to understand customers and their challenges.
  • Excellent product judgment and a feel for what makes UX “click”.
  • Strong willingness to learn, adapt, and improve by actively seeking and applying feedback.
  • Comfortable with technical concepts and able to work closely with engineering teams to define product specifications and address technical challenges.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with model training and inference.
  • Experience with growth loops, referrals, pricing experiments, or viral acquisition.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and execute growth levers across activation, retention, and referral.
  • Lead experiments across onboarding, sign-up flows, pricing pages, and messaging.
  • Design intuitive user flows and coach an engineering team to ship higher quality products faster and drive adoption in line with brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering to rapidly test hypotheses.
  • Use data to uncover friction in the developer journey and remove it.
  • Partner with marketing and community teams to drive traffic, increase activation, and build viral loops via docs, tutorials, and forums.
  • Track and move metrics like DAU/MAU, Time to value, Activation %, PQLs, and expansion revenue.
  • Build with speed, learning from failure, and doubling down on what works.
