High Volume Shipping-Product Manager

Vantage Point Logistics (VPL)Genoa Township, OH

About The Position

At VPL, we modernize pharmacy supply chains to support positive outcomes for patients. As our Product Manager for High Volume Shipping, you are the driving force behind the platform that keeps medications moving at scale, reliably, accurately, and without friction. Reporting to the Senior Product Manager, you will own the roadmap for our high-volume shipping product purpose-built for Health System Specialty Pharmacies, Central Fill Pharmacies, and Independent Infusion & Specialty Pharmacies. This product lives at the intersection of robotic dispensing, integration-heavy workflows, and the clinical urgency of specialty pharmacy. You will work hands-on to evolve what is today an on-premises solution into a scalable, tightly integrated platform that supports large central fill operations, where the margin for error is zero and automation is the standard, not the exception.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of Product Management experience, ideally within healthcare IT, pharmacy, or supply chain software.
  • Prior experience as a Product Manager at a shipping or logistics software company, such as a multi-carrier shipping platform, parcel technology provider, or shipping API platform. You understand how shipping products are built from the inside, including carrier integrations, rate engines, label generation, and tracking infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience owning or contributing to integration-heavy products, ideally involving pharmacy management systems, dispensing platforms, or ERP integrations.
  • Familiarity with robotic dispensing systems, pharmacy automation, or clinical supply chain workflows in central fill or specialty pharmacy environments. Experience with high-volume pharmacy or regulated-goods shipments is a plus but not required — we will teach you our domain if you bring the shipping expertise.
  • Proven ability to manage a product with an existing installed base through modernization or platform transitions.
  • Proven ability to work effectively across a product team, collaborating with peer PMs, contributing to shared architectural decisions, and operating without siloed ownership.
  • Comfortable working closely with engineering teams, able to ask the right questions about how systems connect, how data flows, and where technical constraints affect product decisions.
  • Experience using product and shipping data to make roadmap decisions and explain the value of the product to stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with high-volume pharmacy or regulated-goods shipments is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Architect the High Volume Shipping Roadmap: Define and execute the strategic product roadmap for VPL's high-volume shipping platform, balancing near-term delivery with a long-term vision for scalability and automation. Translate the operational needs of Health System Specialty Pharmacies, Central Fill Pharmacies, and Independent Infusion & Specialty Pharmacies into a prioritized, well-reasoned backlog. Lead roadmap planning and review cycles with the Senior Product Manager, aligning milestones to business outcomes and customer commitments.
  • Navigate the On-Prem to Scalable Platform Journey: Serve as the Product Manager for our current on-premises solution, managing enhancement cycles, customer escalations, and technical debt trade-offs. Define the migration and modernization path in collaboration with Engineering, identifying what to evolve, what to replace, and what to carry forward. Ensure continuity of service for existing high-volume pharmacy customers throughout any transition.
  • Drive Integration Strategy Across the Dispensing Ecosystem: Own the integration strategy between VPL's shipping platform and robotic dispensing partners, defining data contracts and API specifications in collaboration with Engineering. Stay closely engaged with dispensing vendors to understand their capabilities and roadmaps, ensuring VPL's integration approach scales with the ecosystem.
  • Design for Low-Touch, High-Scale Operations: Architect product workflows optimized for near-zero human intervention, from prescription receipt through label generation, carrier selection, and shipment confirmation. Identify and eliminate manual touchpoints in the pharmacy workflow through intelligent automation, exception handling, and smart defaults. Collaborate with UX to ensure the product experience supports pharmacist oversight without burdening high-throughput operations.
  • Collaborate Across the VPL Product Organization: Work closely with peer Product Managers across VPL to ensure cohesion across the platform and avoid duplicated effort or conflicting experiences. Participate in cross-product planning, contributing to shared infrastructure decisions that span VPL products. Serve as the internal subject matter expert for high-volume specialty pharmacy workflows across Product, Engineering, Sales, and Account Management.
  • Synthesize Customer and Market Intelligence: Conduct discovery with Health System Specialty Pharmacy, Central Fill, and Independent Infusion & Specialty Pharmacy customers to deeply understand their operational environment, staffing constraints, and technology ecosystems. Translate pharmacy regulations, carrier requirements, and customer workflows into clear, actionable product requirements. Dig into shipping data to spot bottlenecks and opportunities to automate.
