About The Position

VARITE is looking for a qualified Product Manager to join their client, a life science and clinical research company. This role focuses on the Applied Chemistry product lines within the Laboratory Chemicals Division, Fine Chemical Products Business Unit. The Global Product Manager will be responsible for developing product strategy, driving new product development, managing the product lifecycle, and achieving revenue and profitability targets. This position requires a strong understanding of applied chemistry markets and the ability to collaborate across various departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in chemistry.
  • Minimum 3 years of Product Management experience.
  • Experience with financial modeling and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to build and analyze models to forecast and track results.
  • Proven record of successfully introducing products/product lines into the market.
  • Self-motivated with a track record in implementing both short- and long-term plans.
  • Strong customer focus with a demonstrated track record of successful customer interactions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities (PowerPoint and Excel expertise).
  • Good organizational skills: able to prioritize and balance multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to distil customer requirements, understands competitive strengths and weaknesses, and develops compelling product offerings and value propositions and addresses competitive threats.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix management structure and partner seamlessly within the organization.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships cross functionally.
  • Able to act in a relatively autonomous capacity and address problems of diverse scope and moderate to high complexity.
  • Ability to present high-level information to multiple audiences, including scientists, executives, and non-scientific personnel.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Inorganic Chemistry preferred.
  • Experience in applied chemistry applications and specific knowledge of applied chemistry markets (products, technology, competitors, customers, and techniques) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop product strategy for Applied Chemistry product lines (salts, inorganics, metals & materials).
  • Create a forward-looking, customer-focused new product development plan.
  • Manage portfolio for maximum lifetime value.
  • Drive revenue and profitability targets.
  • Set pricing and margin strategies.
  • Provide day-to-day product management support to sales, technical support, marketing, and operations.
  • Participate in portfolio planning and segment strategy development.
  • Manage full product life cycle, including product discontinuation strategies.
  • Own profit and loss and annual financial targets.
  • Provide direction and support to commercial, R&D, market development, distribution partners, and operations.
  • Forecast future demand.
  • Identify, analyze, and articulate market insight, competitive threats, and customer requirements.
  • Drive development and delivery of a market-leading customer purchasing experience and product portfolio.
  • Drive development of product roadmaps.
  • Develop new product offerings following the Product Commercialization Process.
  • Build and deliver launch plans for new products.
  • Craft compelling value propositions.
  • Partner with regional marketing and global market development teams to understand market dynamics and competitive forces.
  • Leverage information to drive revenue growth plans.
  • Identify, establish, and lead strategic partnerships.
  • Identify and report competitive situations and translate into plans of action.
  • Coordinate and deliver sales training.
  • Connect with management on product portfolio performance and market changes.
