About The Position

The Product Manager owns daily execution oversight and the two-to-six-week operational plan for an assigned region and commodity lane. The role carries decision authority within its region for same-day pack changes, allocation calls, and late-transportation decisions inside defined escalation thresholds, and guides the sales team with accurate availability projections, category education, and supply chain communication. The Product Manager leads claims resolution, transfer strategy, and import flow planning for assigned lanes, and directs the daily priorities of Assistant Product Managers.

Requirements

  • Associate degree minimum; bachelor's in agriculture business, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
  • Three or more years in produce, perishables, or supply chain execution; berry experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment under time pressure to make competent decisions independently.
  • Intermediate or greater Microsoft Excel required, SAP experience a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; will lead calls with partners, sales, and leadership.
  • Willing to travel at least 30 days per year; valid driver's license required.
  • Available on call evenings and weekends; weekend department coverage on a rotation basis.
  • Willingness to support upper management as travel and availability schedules dictate.

Responsibilities

  • Own daily short-term sales and operations planning for the assigned region.
  • Own two-to-six-week transfer strategy and import flow planning for assigned lanes.
  • Partner with Transportation team on load efficiency, departure cutoffs, and changes to maximize freight value.
  • Lead claims resolution and prevention for the assigned region.
  • Oversee FIFO allocation and rotation discipline across assigned inventories.
  • Direct repack and regrade decisions for the assigned region with a clear understanding of the profitability of each option.
  • Maintain a working command of customer specifications for key accounts.
  • Understanding of the supply chain of our most important customers providing leadership on these accounts.
  • Lead the daily relationship with Partner Operations staff to hit customer and department service goals.
  • Drive packaging decisions that add value, including private label and new pack development.
  • Review ideal SKU mix with the Directors of Sales and the AVP.
  • Verify daily projections are entered correctly; direct APM entry work.
  • Communicate availability, inventory, and fulfillment changes to Product Management and Sales without delay.
  • Participate in pre-season planning with Partner Operations, alliance growers, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Mentor Assistant Product Managers and direct their daily priorities; provide input to their development.
  • Participate in the weekend coverage rotation per the department coverage model.
