Product Manager

Match GroupNew York, NY
$110,000 - $120,000Hybrid

About The Position

Match Group is a leading provider of dating products globally, including Tinder, Hinge, Match, and HER. HER is the world's largest community for lesbian, bisexual, and queer people, serving millions of LGBTQIA+ users across 55+ countries. HER is part of Match Group's Everyone & Everywhere (E&E) portfolio, offering the benefits of a global organization with the autonomy of a small, mission-driven team. This is a temporary, 9-month position for a Product Manager I to own product execution at HER. The role involves managing the day-to-day product/engineering sprint cadence, including standups, planning, backlog grooming, and unblocking engineers. It also requires shaping the roadmap by pitching ideas and participating in feature and design discussions. This is not a purely execution-focused role; it offers significant ownership and a direct connection to the team building HER's brand and product vision.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of product management experience, ideally at a consumer app or subscription/freemium product.
  • Hands-on experience running agile ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, retros) and driving execution solo.
  • Ability to make prioritization calls with limited bandwidth and back them up with data.
  • Clear and effective communication across cross-functional teams — Design, Engineering, Data, CRM.
  • Comfortable at a startup-y pace: small team, high ownership, fast iteration.
  • Genuine understanding and care for queer culture and HER's community.
  • Ability to contribute ideas as well as execute on others'.
  • Excited to work closely with a small, senior team and get direct exposure to Match Group's scale.

Nice To Haves

  • Lived experience within the sapphic/queer community.
  • Experience with consumer dating/social apps.
  • Familiarity with Figma, Jira, Google Docs, and Notion (or willingness to ramp quickly).
  • Exposure to subscription revenue models.

Responsibilities

  • Run the product/engineering sprint cadence — standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retros.
  • Keep releases on track and unblock engineering as issues arise.
  • Translate roadmap priorities into clear, well-scoped tickets and specs.
  • Contribute original ideas to the roadmap — pitch ideas and weigh in on feature and design discussions.
  • Use data and qualitative insight to prioritize what gets built next.
  • Partner closely with Design, Data/Analytics, Engineering, and CRM to ship high-quality experiences.
  • Coordinate periodically with the broader Emerging & Evergreen product team.
  • Build relationships with HER's Head of Product and founder to stay aligned with brand vision.
  • Use product analytics to inform prioritization and measure the impact of shipped work.
  • Design and interpret experiments in partnership with Data/Analytics.

Benefits

  • The scale, insight, and infrastructure of a global organization.
  • The autonomy, speed, and cultural focus of a small, mission-driven team.
  • Direct exposure to Match Group's scale.
