About The Position

We are Bloomberg Enterprise Data, a fast-paced, innovative, and growing team that partners closely with clients to understand their unique businesses, individual data, and financial technology (FinTech) needs. Our extensive selection of datasets across all asset types, delivered through various technologies and flexible scheduling, ensures clients receive the exact data they need, when they need it, in their preferred format. Our award-winning data powers financial applications and systems in capital markets, serving buyside asset managers. Our private markets data solutions will enhance our existing public markets data, which spans reference, pricing, regulatory, risk, and sustainable data products. This will create a comprehensive product suite with a compelling value proposition for buyside asset managers, asset owners, hedge funds, sell-side banks, and service providers. This business is central to our growth strategy within Enterprise Data, with the ambition to continue addressing the most complex demands and evolving challenges of our clients, enabling them to innovate and deliver value to their own customers. The team is tasked with identifying, crafting, and designing data solutions that utilize Bloomberg's proprietary analytics and industry-leading private markets data. This requires a deep understanding of private markets data across various asset classes, including Private Equity, Private Debt, Infrastructure, and Real Estate. It also necessitates a strong grasp of private markets data sourcing intricacies, data feeds/APIs, and the corresponding target client segments within private markets. A key aspect of this role is understanding the multi-dimensional challenges our clients face and ensuring we remain their trusted partner in building solutions powered by outstanding data. We are seeking a senior individual to join the Private Markets Data team as a Product Manager. This position will report to the Global Head of Enterprise Data License Content.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in product management or equivalent, particularly in private markets data or alternative assets.
  • Deep understanding of the various private market asset classes (Private Equity, Private Credit, Infrastructure, Real Estate, and Hedge funds) and expertise in at least 2 of them.
  • Deep knowledge of client cohorts including GPs, LPs and service providers and target audience for private markets data products.
  • Demonstrated expertise in private markets and a comprehensive understanding of the investing process and data needs across each deal stage.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen with a consistent track record in growing a data business with a focus on data feeds and APIs.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in leading high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Basic proficiency in programming languages such as Python.

Responsibilities

  • Building a strategic product roadmap and measuring progress towards the long-term vision for Private Markets Data.
  • Serving as an integral part of a collaborative leadership team of seasoned product managers.
  • Working with key stakeholders across Enterprise Data's entire range of products and solutions.
  • Ensuring good judgment, execution, coordination, collaboration, communication, and implementation.
  • Working closely with Engineering, Product, Data, Sales, and all relevant support teams.
  • Driving Data business growth.
  • Building and executing a strategic product roadmap for Private Markets Data, ensuring alignment with Bloomberg’s overall growth strategy.
  • Leading a collaborative effort across teams to innovate and expand product offerings, leveraging extensive experience in Private Markets.
  • Utilizing deep knowledge of private markets and alternative assets to identify client needs and build data solutions that provide a competitive edge.
  • Engaging directly with clients to understand their challenges and collaborate on developing scalable data solutions.
  • Ensuring incremental deliveries and a phased product roadmap with clearly outlined business outcomes.
  • Driving continuous improvement and customer satisfaction through leadership in product strategy, large-scale project management, and agile development.
  • Developing a deep understanding of the enterprise data offering, including content, accessibility, usability, quality, tools, and services available to clients to enhance their interaction and usage of content.
  • Leading the development of data-driven strategies to meet business goals and enhance product offerings, with a solid background in data analysis, forecasting, and basic proficiency in programming languages like Python.
