About The Position

The Product Manager IT is responsible for managing a portfolio of products or a specific product throughout its lifecycle. This role involves defining the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, working closely with cross-functional teams, and delivering successful products that meet customer needs and drive business growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management of varied complexities and scope.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day).
  • Ability to hear the telephone.
  • Ability to enter data on a computer.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with management.
  • Ability to visualize and plan objectives and goals strategically.
  • Ability to be creative in designing products.
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to change and alter according to changes in projects or business environment.
  • Proficient in Project Management tools (i.e., MS Project) or similar project tool(s).
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web browsers.

Nice To Haves

  • Field of Study: Business, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent job-related experience.
  • PMI Certification is desired but not required.
  • Previous experience taking a product line to market is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate a comprehensive IT product strategy that aligns with the organization's overall business strategy.
  • Develop and maintain a product roadmap that outlines key initiatives and enhancements.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, security, and business units, to ensure successful product development and delivery.
  • Foster strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Conduct research to identify industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in IT product management.
  • Use market insights to inform product decisions and stay ahead of competitors.
  • Lead the product development process, defining product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Work with engineering teams to prioritize and execute product enhancements.
  • Plan and execute product launches, including developing go-to-market strategies, pricing strategies, and marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to ensure successful product introductions.
  • Define and track key performance metrics for IT products, such as system uptime, reliability, performance, and user satisfaction.
  • Use data-driven insights to drive product improvements.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges associated with IT product development and deployment.
  • Effectively communicate the IT product vision, strategy, and progress to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment and buy-in from all relevant teams.
