About The Position

Help shape the next generation of VIZIO Audio products—TV audio, sound bars, home theater, and accessories—by defining features, performance targets, and readiness for compliance and licensing. As a Product Manager III, you’ll translate customer needs and technical constraints into clear specifications and roadmaps, align cross-functional teams and external ODM partners, and drive execution from concept through launch. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives at the intersection of hardware, firmware, and customer experience. The Audio Hardware Product Management team sets the direction for VIZIO’s consumer electronics Audio portfolio, partnering closely with Engineering, QA, Supply Chain, Sales & Marketing, Industrial Design, and Legal Compliance. We operate cross-functionally to align roadmaps, specifications, and timelines across internal teams and external technology partners. This role strengthens how we define and deliver product capabilities at scale—improving speed-to-market while ensuring our products meet customer expectations, quality standards, and regulatory and licensing requirements.

Requirements

  • Hardware product management experience in Audio consumer electronics or adjacent domains (e.g., whole-home, connected, portable BT/Wi‑Fi speakers).
  • Ability to produce precise PRDs/specs and translate technical detail for executives and cross-functional partners.
  • Familiarity with modern CE audio ecosystems (SoC, BT/Wi‑Fi chipsets), offshore ODM development, and QA validation.
  • Exposure to regulatory/safety standards (e.g., FCC, UL/IEC) and/or licensing programs (e.g., HDMI, Dolby/DTS, Wi‑Fi/BT).
  • Strong program/project management across multiple workstreams using tools like JIRA and Confluence.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in product management.
  • 5 years’ experience in product management or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Define product behavior and performance goals; write feature PRDs and detailed specifications for ODMs, chipset vendors, and QA.
  • Build and maintain roadmaps, specs, and executive-ready documentation and presentations.
  • Drive specification projects end-to-end, aligning stakeholders on timelines, dependencies, and progress reporting.
  • Lead ODM technical design reviews to clarify feasibility, tradeoffs, and execution plans.
  • Support compliance and technology licensing programs; test hardware/firmware and provide feedback and approvals.
