About The Position

Google is seeking a Product Manager to guide products from conception to launch by connecting technical and business needs and working cross-functionally with engineers, designers, marketers, and other partners. The Google Wallet team builds a secure digital wallet for important everyday credentials—including payment cards, loyalty, identity, transit, and physical access—and aims to provide contextual information and personalized experiences. This role owns two distinct product portfolios: Wallet on wearables and Access Control. Each area has a dedicated engineering team and an independent roadmap. The role will help develop Wallet experiences for smartwatches and fitness trackers, expand Wallet to more users and devices, and digitize physical security credentials for use on phones and wearables. It will also contribute to modernizing access infrastructure, improving onboarding, and expanding the use of open industry standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in product management or a related technical role.
  • 2 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
  • 1 year of experience as a product manager for consumer hardware or wearables.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building and shipping features for wearables or sensor-driven mobile experiences, including cross-device user journeys between smartphones and secondary devices.
  • Experience collaborating with external technology partners, hardware OEMs, or third-party systems integrators.
  • Technical understanding of contactless NFC, mobile payments, and embedded Secure Elements.
  • Basic familiarity with physical access control protocols and smart card encryption technologies such as MIFARE, Seos, and Aliro.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with dedicated Wearables engineers to innovate across Google Wallet on smartwatches and fitness trackers.

  • Drive the expansion of Google Wallet across the wearables ecosystem to new users and devices.
  • Digitize physical security credentials to enable access through corporate badges, campus IDs, residential real estate, and hotel keys on phone and wearable devices.
  • Help modernize and scale access infrastructure, innovate user onboarding, and expand usage of open industry standards for physical access such as Aliro.
