About The Position

This role is our product leader for Devices, with responsibility for the offering's financial contribution to the overall commercial success of Tait's product lines in conjunction with Tait's Devices strategy. The role ensures cross-functional organizational engagement to solve market needs that position Tait as a preferred provider. In order to be successful, the successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to articulate customer needs and identify gaps in the current product, or the market, to solve that need based on data analytics. This position is accountable for the financial performance (revenue and margin) and growth of the Tait's solutions, in line with our business strategy. This will involve the contribution to technology and product strategies, contribution to the development of market and sales strategies, and development of sales strategies as needed.

Requirements

  • 8+ years' experience with Device technologies
  • Experience with Devices pricing models and practices.
  • Experience being responsible for producing product strategies and business cases which balance the need of the customer as well as the market.
  • Practical experience in applying Product Management Frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience in capturing and understanding customer requirements in a critical communications setting, and ability to inspire change in a demanding environment.
  • Demonstrated examples of ability to interpret data and use that analysis for rapid learning and changes to programs.
  • Strong commercial and operation skills and experience, including cross-functional and matrix management responsibilities in an international high technology context.

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive direct business management or technology experience in the mission critical communications or VoIP/video market, and global experience seen as a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Management of Devices portfolio
  • Conduct market analysis, across our geographical markets and market segments (sourcing information from our Market Development team) and assess our Devices offering in relation to market challenges and opportunities. Plan development of our Devices offering to deliver to market opportunities.
  • Develop pricing models that can be easily interpreted and adjusted in pre-sales for e.g. volumes and low-level customisation.
  • In collaboration with cross-functional teams, create, publish, and update a comprehensive technology strategy for Devices related technology.
  • Champion implementation of AI technology portfolio
  • Prioritisation of all development work for solutions, in line with the overall budget, market strategy, and our strategic business objectives.
  • Work closely with Product Managers, Product Marketing team, and CTO team to translate the technology strategy into prioritised actions, balancing demands from other Product Lines where required.
  • With close engagement with Finance, ensure a profitable return on business by assessing the price and cost implication of variations to proposals and taking action to maintain the profitability of the solutions.
  • Perform detailed data analytics on costing information to ensure internal customers are aware of costs. Ensure the commercial terms provide an acceptable balance between risk and reward and that Tait is provided the proper contractual protections in all commercial and sales activities.
  • Support sales teams as they develop sales strategies for Devices technologies, through briefings on detailed data analytics on target market (and customer) drivers, technology, and platform developments.
  • Develop Devices roadmap.
  • Regular reporting and both formal and informal market research including competitive feedback, customer requirements, and market trends.
  • Identify opportunities in new or existing clients or market segments which will result in long term sustainable sales of Devices. Travel and visit with chosen and potential customers to progress sales opportunities.
  • In Collaboration with our Technology Office, Sales team and Marketing team, elicit and document Devices market opportunities requirements.
  • Create, train and optimize models satisfying the market requirements identified, ensuring performance, efficiency and accuracy needs are met.
  • In collaboration with the engineering teams, integrate Devices into our systems and solutions, augmenting our workflows with differentiating capabilities.
  • In collaboration with our System and Solution Validation team, devise test strategies, test plans and rigorously test and validate the solutions in our business and mission critical environments.
