Product Manager - Developer Experience, CI, & CD

AddeparNew York, NY
$142,000 - $223,000

About The Position

Addepar is seeking a Product Manager to lead the roadmap for the Developer Experience, CI, and CD teams within the internal Developer Platform organization. This is a critical role focused on defining and driving the tools that all engineers at Addepar use for code development, testing, and deployment. Responsibilities include overseeing the developer portal, service scaffolding, shared application frameworks, CI pipelines, build and test infrastructure, artifact management, and the end-to-end deployment process. The Product Manager will collaborate with the Developer Platform group to translate developer needs and platform strategy into a prioritized roadmap, reporting to the Product Manager leadership for the developer platform and working closely with engineering leads.

Requirements

  • Prior product management experience, ideally owning developer-facing or platform products (internal tooling, CI/CD, developer portals, or infrastructure platforms)
  • Demonstrated ability to define and ship a product roadmap in a technical, engineering-facing domain including comfortable translating ambiguous developer pain points into scoped, prioritized work
  • Working technical fluency with CI/CD concepts and tooling (pipelines, build/test automation, artifact management, deployment strategies) sufficient to have credible conversations with engineers and make informed prioritization calls
  • Experience helping engineering teams prioritize features and capabilities for shared application frameworks — such as service chassis libraries, micro-frontend scaffolding, or shared middleware — balancing individual team needs against platform-wide consistency and adoption
  • Track record managing product development for infrastructure or platform capabilities with multiple engineering stakeholders and competing priorities
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills — able to align engineering leads, platform leadership, and consuming product teams around a shared roadmap
  • Comfort operating with metrics-driven prioritization (e.g., DORA metrics: deployment frequency, change failure rate, lead time, MTTR)

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with developer portal platforms (Backstage or similar), CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Argo Workflows/Tekton), or GitOps deployment tooling (ArgoCD)
  • Familiarity with framework governance models: managing contribution models, deprecation cycles, breaking-change policies, and adoption incentives for platform-owned libraries
  • Familiarity with financial services or other regulated-industry engineering environments
  • Experience driving platform adoption and self-service models across a large, distributed engineering organization
  • Scrum-based agile development experience
  • Experience partnering with globally distributed engineering teams across time zones

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the product roadmap for Developer Experience, CI, and CD teams, spanning the developer portal (Backstage), service scaffolding and golden paths, shared application frameworks and micro-frontend platforms, CI pipeline templates and build automation, test infrastructure, artifact/registry management, and deployment tooling
  • Partner with engineering leads across Developer Platform teams to turn platform strategy into a scoped, sequenced roadmap with clear ownership
  • Define and track adoption and outcome metrics for developer tooling, e.g., deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, mean time to restore, and developer satisfaction and use them to prioritize investment
  • Drive the self-service agenda: reduce dependency on manual platform tickets by making golden paths, scaffolding, and deployment the default way engineers ship
  • Gather and synthesize feedback from engineering teams across the org (via SDLC insight tooling, developer surveys, and direct engagement) to identify friction points and translate them into roadmap priorities
  • Represent the Developer Experience, CI, and CD teams’ roadmaps to platform leadership, product stakeholders, and cross-functional partners; communicate tradeoffs, sequencing, and progress clearly
  • Monitor industry trends in developer platforms, CI/CD tooling, and internal developer portals (Backstage, GitHub Actions, Argo, progressive delivery patterns) to inform build-vs-buy and roadmap decisions
