Product Manager, Core Experience

GleanSan Francisco, CA
$200,000 - $300,000Hybrid

About The Position

Glean is seeking a highly strategic and execution-oriented Product Manager for the Core Experience product area. This role focuses on the full-stack, high-polish, consumer-grade experiences that define how every user interacts with Glean. The position sits at the intersection of AI, consumer-quality product craft, growth, and platform strategy. The Product Manager will own the surfaces where users start and do their work daily, including Homepage, Mobile, Desktop, Browser Extension, and SDK, as well as the app shell, navigation, notifications, and settings. They will shape a single, consistent product journey across all of Glean's touchpoints and closely partner with the Search and Chat teams, influencing how those surfaces appear across the end-to-end user experience. Glean's strategy is to make Glean the central, contextual AI entry point for work, a single, chat-first experience. The Core Experience area is key to delivering this promise by focusing on engagement, session depth, virality, collaboration, onboarding, and rapid experimentation to build daily habits. The role involves working closely with the Product lead and cross-functional partners in engineering, design, data, growth, go-to-market, and customer-facing teams to identify product opportunities, enhance craft and polish, and translate vision into shippable experiences. Given the lean product team, the individual will have a significant impact on shaping both the product roadmap and the team itself. This role is ideal for someone with 8+ years of experience, a strong industry overview, a passion for AI, and the ability to demonstrate granular product implementation skills.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in product management, with a track record of owning and shipping meaningful product areas in B2B SaaS, enterprise software, AI products, consumer products, or high-engagement workflow platforms.
  • Strong product sense for translating complex, ambiguous problems into clear, polished product experiences, comfortable moving between strategy and detailed execution.
  • Deep interest in AI and software, excited by the opportunity to shape consumer-grade experiences combining search, chat, context, and proactive intelligence.
  • Strong track record of driving growth, engagement, and retention through experimentation, instrumentation, and data-driven iteration.
  • Outstanding cross-functional partner and influencer capable of driving outcomes across surfaces not directly owned, aligning adjacent teams into a cohesive user experience.
  • Strong technical fluency and comfort partnering with engineering and data teams on systems involving retrieval, ranking, client infrastructure, and intelligence layers across web, desktop, mobile, and SDK surfaces.
  • Ability to demonstrate granular product thinking, including user workflow experience, appropriate interaction models, and sequencing product capabilities for customer adoption.
  • Comfort operating in highly ambiguous spaces and creating clarity, momentum, and alignment even when the product area is emerging.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Learning and growth mindset.
  • Proven track record of taking ownership, initiative, and delivering results.
  • Effective collaboration with cross-functional partners.
  • Mission-first mindset, understanding success is measured by product and team success.
  • Early adopter in building with or adopting AI for own product craft and excited about helping customers accelerate their AI adoption journey.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the product strategy and roadmap for Core Experience, translating broad company vision into specific product bets, experiences, and execution plans informed by customer needs, usage data, and market signals.
  • Own the end-to-end quality of Glean's core surfaces — Homepage, Mobile, Desktop, Extension, and SDK, plus the app shell, navigation, and settings — driving a single, consistent, consumer-grade product journey across every touchpoint.
  • Partner closely with the Search and Chat teams to influence their roadmaps and ensure seamless integration into a cohesive end-to-end user journey.
  • Spend significant time with users, customers, and internal stakeholders to understand how people start and complete work in Glean, and identify areas of friction, drop-off, or fragmentation impacting engagement and retention.
  • Drive growth, engagement, virality, collaboration, and session depth as first-class outcomes, partnering with growth and data teams on activation, onboarding, and retention across entry points.
  • Champion rapid experimentation, using A/B tests, instrumentation, and qualitative research to learn fast, improve core metrics, and make confident, data-driven product decisions.
  • Partner deeply with engineering, design, and data teams to turn ambiguous concepts into well-scoped products with clear user flows, interaction patterns, quality standards, and measurable outcomes.
  • Drive customer-focused prioritization and efficient execution, balancing long-term platform opportunities with urgent user pain points, strategic customer asks, and company priorities.
  • Collaborate with go-to-market, solutions, support, and forward-deployed teams to learn from customer problems and ensure the product strategy reflects enterprise realities.
  • Bring a high bar for product craft by specifying how opportunities should work in practice, including concrete workflows, UI behavior, performance, and adoption paths.
