About The Position

Vercel is seeking a Product Manager to join their Product team. This role will own Vercel's compute platform, including Fluid compute, Vercel Functions, and Sandbox. The Product Manager will be responsible for setting the direction for how developers configure, scale, and run code on Vercel, from single functions to multi-service architectures and agents. This is a senior role with significant autonomy, focusing on the future direction of the compute platform. The position is based in San Francisco, CA, with a hybrid work model if located within commuting distance of an office (SF, NY, London, or Berlin), or fully remote if located further away. In-office anchor days are Monday, Tuesday, and Friday for hybrid roles.

Requirements

  • Experience building and shipping infrastructure or developer platform products, ideally in compute, serverless, containers, or runtime platforms.
  • Technical depth to reason about concurrency, cold starts, isolation models, and cost/performance tradeoffs of a compute platform.
  • Experience owning a platform area that other product teams build on and setting technical direction.
  • Experience with AI or agent workloads and their resource profiles.
  • Experience working directly with Enterprise customers on infrastructure requirements.
  • Experience using usage and product analytics data to drive roadmap decisions.

Nice To Haves

  • Worked at a cloud provider or on a serverless, container, or edge compute platform.
  • Engineering background or experience building software.
  • Worked on multi-runtime platforms and their tradeoffs.
  • Worked on sandboxing, isolation, or secure execution of untrusted code.

Responsibilities

  • Define how Vercel serves AI and agent workloads, considering their unique compute profiles.
  • Shape the developer experience for running workloads on Vercel, including resource models, attributes, APIs, and configuration files.
  • Partner with Engineering on performance and reliability for compute, addressing cold starts and creation time latency.
  • Define pricing for new products and resources.
  • Set compute primitives for adjacent product areas and collaborate with those teams.
  • Work directly with Enterprise customers and the field on compute requirements that impact adoption or scale.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package, including equity.
