About The Position

Gusto is on a mission to grow the small business economy by handling payroll, health insurance, 401(k)s, and HR, allowing business owners to focus on their craft and customers. With teams in Denver, San Francisco, and New York, Gusto supports over 500,000 small businesses nationwide. The company is building a diverse workplace and offers competitive compensation, benefits, and equity (RSUs) to all full-time employees. AI is fundamental to how work is done at Gusto, and employees are expected to engage with AI tools relevant to their roles. Gusto has been recognized as the #1 best software for small business by G2 in 2024, with over 2,700 employees and more than $500M in annual revenue. The SMB market is substantial and growing, with 6.2 million employers in the US, 98% of whom have fewer than 100 employees, and 550,000 new businesses created annually in the US. The Product team at Gusto is lean, emphasizing high impact and ownership through smaller, empowered teams that move quickly. Product Managers are encouraged to use AI as a co-builder to automate processes and enhance creativity and performance. The role involves prototyping, automating, designing, and shipping solutions that deliver customer value with urgency and care. Gusto has a strong mission-driven culture focused on supporting small and medium businesses with AI-first technology. The environment is fast-paced, and PMs thrive in ambiguity, blending curiosity, experimentation, and AI-native craft. The Business Money team is building the financial operating system for small businesses, with SMB Banking as its foundation. This includes business checking accounts for payroll, bill payments, cash management, employee spend control, and future access to capital. Leveraging Gusto's payroll system, the team can offer banking that understands a business's largest outflow and can engage businesses from their inception. This is a ground-floor opportunity for a PM to take a product from its initial launch through scaling, as the product is early and moving towards its first beta.
