Product Manager, Agentic AI

About The Position

GitKraken is seeking a Product Manager to join a focused engineering team building at the intersection of Git, AI agents, and the future of developer workflows. This role is for someone genuinely curious about the future of software development and already leaning into it, using AI as more than a writing assistant. You will work directly with and report to a senior PM, embedded with a group of engineers tackling complex problems in developer tooling. This is a unique opportunity to be part of defining a new category of tooling and see firsthand how senior technical leaders approach hard problems and ship AI-native developer tooling. You will have real ownership over meaningful parts of the work, not just support tasks, and will be building in a space where norms, tools, and expectations are still being established. The team is building tooling that bridges the gap between changing software team workflows and the tools they use, focusing on AI agents writing code faster than humans. Their products work across surfaces developers inhabit to help developers and agents move code through the pipeline faster and with more confidence. A core part of the work involves building shared infrastructure, including libraries of CLI and MCP tools consumed across all products, spanning CLI tooling, MCP servers, APIs, desktop application development, VS Code extensions, and AI agent workflows.

Requirements

  • Comfortable sitting at the intersection of user needs, technical constraints, and product decisions.
  • Ready to own things: drive a discovery effort, shape how a feature gets framed, or take a half-formed idea and turn it into something the team can act on.
  • Genuinely using AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) as part of your actual work, not just as experiments.
  • Understanding that the PM role is changing and being excited about that evolution.
  • Comfortable going deep technically: able to read API documentation, understand developer workflow integration, and reason about protocol-level concepts without hand-holding.
  • Ability to hold conversations about system architecture, understand API surface importance, and ask questions that aid in better design decisions.
  • Close enough to technical work that engineers trust your judgment (production code writing not required).
  • Do your best work close to users and be genuinely curious about how developers work and what would make their day easier.
  • Write well and communicate clearly, with the ability to distill complex discussions into clear summaries or decisions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with developer tools, IDE extensions, CLI tooling, or anything that ships to developers as an audience.
  • Familiarity with Git workflows, PR processes, or how code moves from development through to production.
  • Hands-on experience conducting user research or discovery interviews with technical audiences.
  • Any background in technical writing, developer relations, or software engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Own the feedback loop with developers, acting as the team's primary interface with users through interviews, surveys, and synthesizing feedback from testers and early adopters.
  • Turn user feedback into clear, actionable signals for the team, requiring technical credibility to have meaningful conversations with developers about their workflows and API consumption.
  • Help keep engineering unblocked and aligned by ensuring the team has clarity on the 'why' behind what they're building and organized work to maintain flow.
  • Synthesize priorities, capture decisions, and ensure the vision is legible to the execution team.
  • Prototype and validate ideas quickly by building rough working prototypes (not polished mockups) to test ideas, explore API integrations, or simulate workflows.
  • Stay connected across the product organization by participating in conversations with other PMs and designers, working through shared problems, stress-testing ideas, and shaping the company's perspective on AI-native developer workflows.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation with annual performance-based pay increases
  • Flexible Paid-Time-Off Policy
  • Paid company holidays (chosen by employees)
  • Generous paid parental leave
  • Pet insurance plan (with no exclusions)
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance with competitive employer cost-sharing

  • 401(k) retirement plan plus company matching
  • Company paid domestic trip after your 1-year anniversary
