About The Position

PayPal, Inc. seeks Product Manager 2 - Technical in San Jose, CA. This role involves working closely with engineering, analytics, compliance, and other development teams in an agile environment. The Product Manager will convert business requirements into high-level technical requirements and be responsible for technical product feature delivery. They will build and execute on the domain product roadmap, identify goals and metrics for prioritization, and own a software domain, driving design and solutioning with engineering and platform software architects. The role requires becoming a subject matter expert for a software domain, gathering and communicating requirements with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and working with engineering throughout the software development lifecycle. Additionally, the Product Manager will represent the technology team in product meetings to identify and scope technology needs early in the product definition phase. Telecommuting is permitted, and the work can be performed from anywhere in the US.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field and two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Digital financial payments technology experience (2 years)
  • API integrations and API drive platforms (2 years)
  • Product management experience in FinTech (1 year)
  • SQL query experience writing basic selection queries against data warehouse (1 year)
  • Data analysis and defining user stories with applicable acceptance criteria (1 year)
  • Defining detailed product requirements scope and designing applications and measuring features to build financial products for customers (2 years)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with engineering, analytics, compliance, and other development teams in an agile environment by converting business requirements to a high-level technical requirement.
  • Responsible for technical product feature delivery.
  • Build and execute on the domain product roadmap to create value and remove barriers for the engineering team.
  • Identify goals and metrics to drive prioritization and timely deliver products and experiments.
  • Own a software domain and drive design and solutioning by working with engineering and platform software architects.
  • Become a subject matter expert for a software domain.
  • Gather and communicate requirements with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work with engineering throughout the software development lifecycle from product requirements gathering, translating technical requirements, software design/solution, implementation, testing, and the delivery of the software feature.
  • Represent technology team in product meetings to identify and scope technology needs in early stages of product definition.
