Organization & Team Overview Xfinity Shield (Xfinity Home evolution) is a Product under Comcast’s Growth and Ops umbrella, currently undergoing rapid innovation to launch a new Home Security product to Comcast’s more than 57 million customer relationships across the U.S. and Europe. Shield is in a critical build period in 2026, working to launch a net-new Home Security product based on Xfinity WiFi support. This highly anticipated launch will position Xfinity to capture significant market share of the high-value, high-growth $40B home security market, and become a key competitor of ADT, Simplisafe, and Ring. Forecast to drive significant revenue and customer adoption, the launch of Shield will be critical to increasing customer engagement and satisfaction with all Xfinity core products. The Product organization is highly invested in ensuring this team has expanded resources to meet delivery milestones. The Shield Product Marketing team is composed of a diverse group of professionals with varied backgrounds and career paths, bringing a well-rounded perspective to product development and execution. The team includes individuals with MBA training and rotational program experience, former Drexel co-op students who have transitioned into full-time roles, and professionals who began their careers in field operations and later moved into headquarters positions. Additionally, team members have cross-functional experience, having transitioned from adjacent product categories such as WiFi and Mobile. This diversity of experience strengthens the team’s ability to approach challenges from multiple angles, combining strategic thinking, customer empathy, technical understanding, and operational insight. It also reflects a strong culture of internal mobility and talent development, demonstrating a clear pathway for early-career talent, including co-op participants, to grow and succeed within the organization. Role Description As a Co-op on the Shield team, you would have the opportunity to provide critical support across all product launch activities, giving you invaluable exposure to a full product lifecycle, while also building in-depth early-career experience aligned with Comcast’s long-term innovation strategy. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a product building from the ground up. Core Product teams such as WiFi and Mobile are working in a business-as-usual state, having launched many years ago and introducing new evolutions and enhancements to the product over time. Shield is a net-new home security product, building from the ground up, with a market disruptive experience and value proposition. Experience like this is imperative to upward-mobility in Product Management/Marketing/tech roles, and will help to serve as a strong platform for your future professional growth. This team has extensive work ahead, but truly enjoys working together and having fun along the way. At times, the work can be ‘all hands on deck’, so the ideal candidate will be someone who isn’t shy about speaking up, sharing opinions and jumping into whatever work they can contribute to, partnering with different team members and cross-functional groups along the way. This role in particular will provide valuable and educational mentorship opportunities: Mentorship under both previous Drexel Co-Op and RLP program ‘graduates’ who have moved into full-time roles on the Shield team Dedicated manager and structured onboarding plan by previous Co-op Access to mentors across Product, Marketing, Engineering, Sales and Design What are some interesting problems the student will work on? In this role, you will contribute significantly to the launch of Xfinity Shield, functioning as a junior product team member, embedded within the Shield product team and contributing across the full product lifecycle. Where can this student make an impact? You’ll be working with a diverse, tenured, and expansive group at Comcast while we roll out the launch of Xfinity Shield.
