About The Position

Collective is redefining the way businesses-of-one operate by providing an integrated platform that handles business incorporation, accounting, bookkeeping, tax services, and community access. The company aims to empower self-employed individuals to achieve financial independence and enjoy tax benefits similar to large corporations. This role is for a Product Lead for the Core Platform, responsible for the foundational infrastructure of the Collective member experience. This includes the unified task system, dashboard, messaging layer, and core UI components. The Product Lead will report directly to the CEO, define and build a new function, integrate AI into the platform from the ground up, and establish standards for other product teams.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of product management or technical experience, with significant experience in platform, infrastructure, or horizontal systems products.
  • AI product experience, having shipped products with embedded AI in core workflows.
  • Experience with LLMs, agentic systems, or AI support layers is ideal, or deep fluency in AI capabilities.
  • Platform builder instincts and the ability to differentiate between end-user products and infrastructure for a product organization.
  • First-principles thinking under ambiguity; ability to write a roadmap from scratch.
  • Strong cross-functional credibility to uphold platform standards while managing peer relationships.
  • Data fluency for diagnosing platform health, measuring system adoption, and making data-driven prioritization decisions.
  • Comfort operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments where both the product and the organization are being built simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Collective's Core Platform, encompassing the unified task system, dashboard, messaging infrastructure, and shared components.
  • Define and mandate the System of Record for tasks and communications for all vertical product teams.
  • Architect the AI integration layer and design how the AI support system connects to the task framework to proactively guide members and reduce support load.
  • Set technical standards for task schemas, notification logic, lifecycle states, and component contracts.
  • Partner with Internal Tools and Operations to ensure human-in-the-loop workflows have necessary visibility, automation, and tooling.
  • Drive the roadmap and make tradeoff decisions between platform integrity, vertical team speed, and business priorities.
  • Measure platform health through key metrics such as shared system adoption, task completion rates, AI deflection rates, and ops efficiency.
  • Lead cross-functional alignment across product, engineering, design, and ops.
