About The Position

The Products Lab Analyst is responsible for overseeing quality review activities related to mass manufacturing as well as ensuring compliance when that mass is utilized in filled products. This includes verifying that materials meet all specified RDS test requirements and specifications, along with adhering to all physical product attributes reviewed to a globally designated standard. Any failure to meet these parameters triggers an investigation, requiring collaboration with the QA Lab Manager, QA Operations, and Manufacturing Supply Chain teams to find a resolution.

Requirements

  • Degree in Science, preferably B.S./M.S. in Chemistry or Biochemistry or equivalent experience
  • Candidates should possess advanced knowledge or hands-on experience with various laboratory instruments, including UV/Vis spectrophotometers, FTIR, Karl Fischer titrators, pH meters, viscometers, colorimeters, densitometers, refractometers, titrations, and other wet chemistry techniques.
  • The ability to define all sensory product attributes—such as color, odor, and appearance evaluation—is essential.
  • A solid understanding and adherence to safe laboratory practices are required.
  • Advanced knowledge of laboratory testing techniques, including GMP, GDP, and Good Lab Practices, is crucial.
  • Candidates must follow good documentation practices and accurately document analytical tests in lab notebooks in a timely manner.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to effectively relay information to management.
  • Problem-solving abilities are essential.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed is required.
  • Candidates must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with cosmetic ingredients and manufacturing processes is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP systems is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct basic analyses, evaluations, and the release of raw materials using various instruments, including: UV/Vis spectrophotometer, FTIR, Karl Fischer titrator, pH Meter, Viscometer, Colorimeter, Densitometer, Refractometer, Titrations
  • Ensure all analyses are performed in accordance with the approved analytical test methods before materials are shipped or used in filling or manufacturing processes.
  • Perform Out-of-Specification (OOS) lab investigations, keeping management informed of critical issues and recommending opportunities for improvement.
