About The Position

This role provides strategic technology leadership across the Money Movement and Card Payments Product Group, encompassing services like Email Money Transfer, Global Transfers, and Digital and Ecommerce wallets. The lead will partner with Product Management to define and execute the technology roadmap, aligning with business objectives and customer outcomes. Key responsibilities include leading technology investment planning, prioritization, and capacity management across multiple delivery streams, ensuring alignment between product strategy, enterprise architecture, engineering standards, and delivery objectives. The role owns technology outcomes related to customer experience, platform reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence. Additionally, the lead will govern technology delivery across Agile Release Trains (ARTs), collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure successful feature delivery, manage dependencies, mitigate risks, and track execution. This includes driving Program Increment (PI) planning and ensuring effective coordination across Business, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Vendor partners. The role also involves leading the design and delivery of payment capabilities such as Interac e-Transfer, International Payments, ISO 20022 Payment Processing, and Digital Wallet/Mobile Payment Solutions, ensuring seamless integration and driving modernization initiatives using APIs, microservices, cloud-native platforms, and event-driven architectures. Stakeholder management is crucial, involving building strong relationships with executive stakeholders, communicating delivery status and strategic recommendations, influencing decision-making, and managing strategic vendor partnerships.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience.
  • 5+ years leading large-scale payments or financial services technology initiatives.
  • Proven experience leading Agile Release Trains, Product Groups, or large technology portfolios.
  • Experience managing multiple cross-functional engineering and delivery teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic technology leadership across the Money Movement and Card Payments Product Group including Email Money Transfer, Global Transfers, Digital and Ecommerce wallets.
  • Partner with Product Management to define and execute the technology roadmap supporting business objectives and customer outcomes.
  • Lead technology investment planning, prioritization, and capacity management across multiple delivery streams.

  • Establish and monitor delivery KPIs, engineering metrics, and business outcome measurements.
  • Lead the design and delivery of payment capabilities supporting: Interac e-Transfer, International Payments, ISO 20022 Payment Processing, Digital Wallet and Mobile Payment Solutions.
  • Ensure seamless integration between payment channels, orchestration platforms, payment engines, fraud platforms, customer systems, and downstream processing applications.
  • Drive modernization initiatives leveraging APIs, microservices, cloud-native platforms, and event-driven architectures.
  • Build strong relationships with executive stakeholders across Technology, Payments, Product, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Finance.
  • Communicate delivery status, risks, dependencies, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Influence decision-making across complex organizational structures.
  • Manage strategic vendor partnerships and third-party technology providers.
