About The Position

The Aftermarket & Sustainment Engineering (ASE) organization is looking for a qualified individual to support the environmental compliance for aftermarket product businesses through detailed and proactive assessment of the business impacts of chemical regulations. Working closely with the Global Chemical Regulations Program (GCRP) team, the ASE Product Environmental Program Engineer will be highly proficient and familiar with technical data in engine manuals to produce comprehensive assessments to determine global chemical regulatory risks to Pratt & Whitney. The candidate will also support fulfilling contractual requirements for chemical usage as they relate to the products that are maintained or repaired in Pratt & Whitney repairs for Aftermarket Operations (AMO).

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 5 years of relevant experience or 3 years with an advanced degree.
  • 3+ years experience in aerospace industry and materials used in aerospace.
  • 2+ years experience in crafting and delivering effective presentations.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain robust data used to perform impact assessments of substance uses within ASE and engine programs, including critical data in Granta and Teamcenter.
  • Perform impact assessments (including where-used data) to support global regulation compliance, REACH Authorization, substitute technology development/implementation and regulatory advocacy activities.
  • Support industrialization of substitutes to ensure AMO business continuity.
  • Provide training and expert guidance to Repair Design community.
  • Prepare concise summaries for leadership communications.
  • Active pursuit of process improvements to increase quality and efficiency of processes and data collection supporting impact assessments.
  • Work closely with whole of GCRP team to ensure alignment and coordinated efforts across OEM and MRO activities.
  • Collaborate with other professionals within P&W, RTX, and the industry to ensure that P&W meets our business goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain ASE Materials of Concern (MOC) reporting tool for ASE Repair Development Engineers (RDE).
  • Assist in updating and communicating updates in the standard practices procedures for Aftermarket Operations (AMO).
  • Support customer program deliverables related to regulatory and contract requirements.
