Job Title: Product Engineering Manager Reporting To: Senior Product Engineering Manager Work Schedule: Onsite – Buffalo, NY Moog’s Commercial Aircraft business supports the full aircraft lifecycle—from design, development, testing, and certification to in‑service support. Our capabilities include OEM design, aftermarket services, engine accessory repairs, aircraft control components, and advanced avionics and digital airfield solutions. Our team in Commercial Engineering – OE & Aftermarket is looking for an onsite Product Engineering Manager to join them. You will report directly to the Senior Manager Product Engineering and will be located in East Aurora, NY. The Product Engineering Manager leads the Product Engineering Group supporting Commercial Aircraft production at the East Aurora design center and Baguio production facility. In this role, you will ensure product integrity, resolve production issues, and drive improvements in cost and producibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • 8 years of relevant experience
  • Technical expertise in mechanical actuation systems and equipment, including assembly processes, testing and functionality.
  • Experience supporting multi‑site production programs.
  • Willingness to travel internationally (typically 1–2 visits/year to Philippines; occasional visits within the USA).

Nice To Haves

  • Proven engineering management or leadership experience is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and developing the Product Engineering team: plan workload, allocate resources, set priorities and coach engineers.
  • Provide technical leadership and hands‑on support for production and development programs.
  • Support production operations: maintain assembly/test instructions, specify tooling/equipment, resolve assembly/test/manufacturing issues and manage MRB dispositions.
  • Assess and improve designs for producibility, quality and cost and evaluate processes.
  • Manage supplier technical interfaces and approve supplier design changes.
  • Provide field problem support, failure analysis, specification review and proposal cost input.
  • Drive Lean and process improvements and liaise with Program Management, Test Equipment, Design Engineering, Operations, Quality and Supply Chain.
  • Define capital and personnel budget requirements and ensure team adherence to safety standards.
  • Ensure engineering support that consistently delivers on quality, cost and on time delivery.
