About The Position

ATI is hiring a 2027 Rolling Engineering Intern for its Specialty Materials operation in Richburg, South Carolina. This 10-week summer internship is intended for undergraduate or graduate students pursuing Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. The intern will work with the Rolling team to analyze mill performance, investigate process variation, and identify opportunities to improve rolling operations, combining engineering fundamentals, statistical analysis, CAD skills, and hands-on exposure to mill shop operations. Depending on project assignment, work may include reviewing rolling-mill cobble data and restbar effects, comparing mill dimensional measurements with laser gauge measurements, reverse engineering equipment and creating engineering drawings, analyzing process data, and supporting day-to-day mill projects with Operations and Engineering teams. The internship may provide an opportunity to transition into a full-time Engineer – Operations position at ATI after graduation.
