Product Engineer- Nestjs/TypeScript

RevSpringNashville, TN

About The Position

Cost Clarity is building something patients rarely get: a clear, honest answer to “What will this cost me?” The team owns the platform that calculates patient and member out-of-pocket responsibility across the care journey, from pre-visit estimates through federal price transparency compliance. It is meaningful, high-impact work, and the team owns the full stack behind it, from the estimation logic that derives patient responsibility to the claims and remittance data pipelines that feed it. This is a full-stack engineering role with a strong emphasis on backend development. The primary focus is building the estimation engine and the cost-estimation algorithms that power Cost Clarity, along with the claims and remittance data processing and APIs that support them. This work sits at the core of the platform and involves solving some of the team's most challenging technical problems. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to a product with a clear purpose while working alongside a team that values strong engineering and collaboration. The challenges are genuinely complex, the impact on patients is meaningful, and there is significant opportunity to grow into greater technical ownership and leadership. Candidates who are excited by this mission and these challenges are encouraged to apply.

  • Strong TypeScript and Node.js; NestJS experience preferred
  • Experience designing and consuming backend APIs and services
  • Working knowledge of AWS (ECS, Lambda, or similar compute/deployment services)
  • Comfort working in Angular for full-stack contributions
  • A knack for complex, rules-driven business logic
  • Healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM) experience, particularly with 837/835 EDI transactions
  • Familiarity with price transparency, No Surprises Act, or Good Faith Estimate regulations
  • Experience with Snowflake or large-scale claims/remittance data pipelines
  • Experience with monorepo tooling (Nx) or microservice architectures
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 4-6 years of professional software engineering experience
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of both internal and external sources.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build backend services in NestJS/TypeScript for cost estimation and related data processing
  • Work with historical claims and remittance data to make estimates more accurate
  • Build and maintain integrations with external systems involved in cost calculation and compliance workflows
  • Contribute to Angular front-end work where estimates surface in patient- or member-facing tools
  • Design services so internal calculation methods can evolve without breaking how other teams integrate
  • Work within AWS infrastructure for deployment and scaling
  • Help shape architecture decisions as the platform grows and consolidates
