Senior TypeScript Developer
About The Position
The Senior TypeScript Developer role focuses on designing and building scalable applications, making architectural decisions, and mentoring junior developers. Responsibilities include developing robust TypeScript solutions for both front-end and back-end systems, conducting code reviews, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with TypeScript, distributed architectures, API design, and modern development practices, along with strong leadership and communication skills. We're seeking an experienced Senior TypeScript Developer to join our engineering team. In this role, you'll design and build scalable applications, mentor junior developers, and contribute to architectural decisions that shape our technology stack.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of extensive TypeScript experience in production environments.
- Strong understanding of JavaScript fundamentals, ES6+, and asynchronous programming.
- Experience with Node.js and back-end TypeScript development.
- Extensive experience designing and building distributed architectures and microservices.
- Expert-level knowledge of API design principles, RESTful APIs, and/or GraphQL.
- Strong proficiency with PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong knowledge of testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, or similar).
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with modern build tools (Webpack, Vite, Rollup) and module bundlers.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Understanding of microservices architecture.
- Experience with monorepo management tools (Nx, Turborepo, Lerna).
- Contributions to open-source TypeScript projects.
- Experience with type-driven development and advanced TypeScript features.
- Knowledge of design patterns and software architecture principles.
- Experience leading technical initiatives or projects.
Responsibilities

- Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives.
