About The Position

Zero-Max is currently recruiting for a Product Engineer responsible for coordinating activities to design, manufacture, process and test components, products, and systems. This includes developing new products and modifying pre-engineered products for customer applications. You will provide technical support to Sales and Marketing, Production, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Quality Control.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical degree with a minimum of 5 years of engineering and design related experience; or a combination of relevant education and experience
  • Experience with 3D modeling software
  • Experience with Statics & Strength of Materials
  • Practical experience with Geometric Dimension &Tolerance
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office is a must
  • Ability to efficiently communicate information

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience designing, tolerancing, and specifying surface finishes for machined components
  • Project Management Skills
  • Experience with Solidworks CAD/PDM/SIM
  • Experience with process capability studies (Cpk), statistics, and data analysis
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodology

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of new products, bring own perspective to conceptualization, create drawings with parts lists and methods of manufacturing
  • Conduct peer reviews of engineering designs, drawings and other engineering documentation needed for manufacturing against customer orders for prototypes
  • Perform design optimization studies, motion studies and other PC-based simulations
  • Product performance test plans, develop test setups, participate in testing of prototypes
  • Collaborate with Quality, Production and Tooling at product launch and throughout the entire product lifecycle
  • Analyze engineering specifications, performance requirements, and related data and drawings to determine feasibility of application, product selection, and design scope
  • Create preliminary designs, estimate manufacturing costs, request pricing for purchased components
  • Confirm production costs and details design, contribute to testing of special products
  • Check the quality of own designs, perform peer design reviews
  • Provide after sale support with troubleshooting and with evaluation of returned product
  • Create and maintain engineering data with item masters and with fabrication methods
  • Update engineering drawings, specifications, item masters and manufacturing methods upon customer’s feedback and requests, to address issues or to reduce production costs
  • Document engineering changes, selects a correct Engineering Change Management approach and coordinates change routings by using the Engineering Change Order
  • Identify component features Critical to Quality and collaborate with Quality in the development of Inspection Plans and the dispositioning on non-conform parts
  • Create and maintain engineering specifications and assembly instructions
  • Create and present conclusions from design, analyses of data and test reports
