Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field required.
  • 0–3 years of relevant engineering, construction, manufacturing, or precast concrete experience; internship and co-op experience will be considered.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand engineering, shop, and production drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of building construction methods, structural systems, construction details, and engineering principles.
  • Understanding of applicable building codes, regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, production, and operations teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred, or ability to obtain EIT certification.
  • Familiarity with precast concrete, prefabricated building products, or construction materials is preferred.
  • experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or other engineering design software is a plus.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn, develop technical expertise, and pursue professional growth toward Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or contribute to the development of new concrete products, considering performance, cost, and market requirements.
  • Create and review product designs, ensuring they meet industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct testing and analysis of concrete mixes to assess and improve product performance and durability.
  • Collaborate with quality control teams to establish and maintain high-quality standards for concrete products.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in concrete production to enhance efficiency and product consistency.
  • Work with raw material suppliers to evaluate and select materials suitable for concrete manufacturing.
  • Assist in cost analysis and value engineering to optimize product performance while managing production costs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of product specifications, testing results, and design changes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, and sales, to address product-related challenges and opportunities.
  • Ensure that concrete products comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement in product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including management and customers.
