About The Position

The Product Engineer will be responsible for developing processes, defining controls, and implementing effective scrap elimination efforts on assigned parts. This role involves writing and updating engineering instructions, managing product release schedules, and controlling development and part costs. The engineer will also identify and implement cost reduction opportunities, continuously improve processes to maintain or enhance budgeted yields, and conduct dimensional probability studies. Key activities include initiating and completing product qualifications, developing and implementing part-specific procedures, and utilizing statistical analysis for yield and dimensional elements of the casting process. Additionally, the role requires developing conceptual designs for tooling and coordinating detailed design and build instructions with internal and external tool rooms. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials or other related Engineering discipline.
  • Hands-on experience in the airfoils investment casting industry a plus
  • Proven analytical, problem solving, and process improvement ability
  • Working knowledge of process control methods
  • Demonstrated ability to develop & execute action plans that will deliver results
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations and priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects
  • Proficiency in a major, industry standard 3D CAD software package
  • Working knowledge of Zero-Defect Program: PFMEA, Control Plan, Process Control
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident (green card holder)

Responsibilities

  • Use statistical and graphical analysis techniques to disposition yield and dimensional elements of the casting process.
  • Develop conceptual designs of required tooling and coordinate detailed design and build instructions with in house and outside tool rooms.
  • Other duties as assigned.
