About The Position

Fuyao Automotive North America Incorporated (FANA) is a glass manufacturing company in Plymouth, MI, serving the North America market with automotive glass. They have manufacturing relationships with top automotive manufacturers like GM, Honda, Chrysler, Kia, BMW, and Hyundai. This specific position is for the Fuyao Glass America - South Carolina Factory in Fountain Inn, SC. The parent company, Fuyao Glass Industry Group Co. Ltd. (FYG), is a leading international manufacturer of automotive and industrial glass, listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, with over 8,000 employees globally. FYG is the largest automotive glass supplier in China with significant market share in both OEM and replacement markets, serving major global automotive manufacturers. The Product Engineer role is part of a triangle team and requires a knowledgeable, committed, self-directed professional with strong engineering and organizational skills, capable of understanding the total business situation to enhance customer and Fuyao’s value.

Requirements

  • Mechanical Bachelor degree is required.
  • Proficient with Computer Aided Design (CAD) Stations (CATIA V5 or UG NX).
  • Personal Computer literate, with analytical decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Must have training in FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis).
  • Must be familiar with IATF 16949.
  • Must be familiar with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process).
  • Must be familiar with APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning).
  • Must be familiar with SPC (Statistical Process Control).
  • Through understanding of Automotive procedures and processes.
  • Previous Automotive Injection molding Experience.
  • Thorough understanding of Fuyao products, specifications, and tolerances.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate in Engineering or Engineering Tech. with one + years’ experience in automotive body/component development.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze OEM drawings and quotations, design and develop process flow charts, engineering requirements, and manage APQP files.
  • Evaluate customer engineering changes, change tools and documents, and manage engineering changes.
  • Plan and define new products, converting them into company documents and standards.
  • Organize the production team and follow up with reviews and inspections.
  • Develop tools from design to buy-off, including molds, assembly fixtures, and checking fixtures.
  • Develop the process and track open issues until they are resolved.
  • Improve the manufacturing process and monitor the process flow chart.
  • Follow up in OEM plants regarding product functionality and improve parts to meet customer expectations.
  • Assist in support activities for all phases of prototype, pre-production, and production start-up through vehicle launch, plus 3 months.
