About The Position

The Pipes & Vault team is responsible for building products that connect third-party data, services, and secrets to applications and AI agents. They form a backbone of data infrastructure and agentic workflows for our customers: Pipes connects external data sources to our customers’ apps and agents Vault secures credentials and secrets that are used across fleets of agents Pipes MCP defines authority for agents to take action through integrations. Unique to this team is that we also lead internal R&D efforts that leverage our products in novel ways. Examples include an agentic BI tool built on top of Pipes that reimagines how our support teams gets customer insights from internal data lakes, and a new web framework for apps with enterprise-grade security as the default. You'll work across a wide surface area, designing APIs for integrations, building secure storage and key management systems, contributing to open-source specs, and prototyping entirely new developer tools. Engineers on this team care deeply about reliability, security, and developer experience, and move quickly between shipped product work and exploratory R&D.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industry software development experience
  • Experience working on small teams in fast-paced environments
  • Background in building systems that solve for security, encryption, storage, multi-tenant data isolation, or large-scale data platforms
  • Intellectually curious, independently driven, and passionate about great products
  • A growth mindset, high emotional intelligence, and strong communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with our stack of TypeScript, React, and Postgres
  • Experience in B2B SaaS, developer tools, or a related industry

Responsibilities

  • Design and build APIs, data connectors, and real-time pipelines that power Pipes and Pipes MCP
  • Architect systems for encryption, secure storage, key rotation, and secret management in Vault
  • Contribute to the Pipes MCP specification, defining how agents are granted scoped authority over integrations
  • Develop a deep understanding of the integrations and data infrastructure landscape and shape product direction across the team's portfolio
  • Expand product scope through value-add features based on customer input
  • Work closely with customers to understand integration, security, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with other product teams, solutions engineering, and our go-to-market team
  • Work directly with leadership on greenfield ideas
  • Help recruit and assess future engineering team members
