About The Position

Ampersand is building scalable integration infrastructure that delivers real-time context to AI agents. Their platform includes 150+ open-source connectors and embeddable UI components. The company was founded in 2022 by experienced engineers and has raised Series A funding. They are looking for a Product Engineer to shape the user experience of their developer-facing platform. This foundational role involves working closely with founders, engineers, and customers to design complex workflows and establish product design standards. The team is small, offers real ownership, and values craft. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on challenging problems and wants their work to have a significant impact.

Requirements

4+ years of experience engineering and designing digital products, preferably in B2B SaaS, developer tools, enterprise software, or technical products.
Strong React skills with full-stack capabilities.
AI-forward mindset and enthusiasm for using AI tools to enhance productivity.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and provide constructive pushback.
Great taste in intuitive developer tools; experience shipping customer-facing developer products is ideal.
Strong product intuition, enabling direct customer engagement for feature design rather than just implementing specifications.

Genuine willingness to go deep in Go on the backend.

Responsibilities

Work on the dashboard experience, including its appearance, feel, and functionality, serving engineers, product managers, and customer enablement teams.
Develop the Ampersand UI library, which consists of embeddable React components and hooks that customers integrate into their applications for their end-users to set up integrations.
Rapidly prototype ideas using AI tools without needing to wait for design mocks or approvals, relying on strong taste and intuition.
Engage directly with customers through user testing, support questions, and feedback gathering to inform product development.
Own the full feature development loop, including design, implementation, documentation, and customer communication, with the ability to contribute to the backend (Go) to unblock oneself.
Ensure the dashboard, which is data-intensive, offers a snappy and delightful user experience.
