Product Engineer, Analytical Instrumentation and NPD

Anton Paar QuantaTec IncBoynton Beach, FL

About The Position

Do you enjoy fixing the problems others accept as “just how production works”?  Are you energized by building repeatable systems, solving root causes, and enabling production to run independently? Would a role that sits at the critical intersection of R&D engineering and production, to ensure innovative instruments transition into stable, high-performing manufacturing systems excite you?  If you said yes, yes, yes please apply to join us as we drive continuous improvement, standardize how products are built, and create manufacturing systems that scale! A Snapshot of What You'll Do:  The Product Engineer owns the manufacturing system for Anton Paar QuantaTec products, ensuring they are built consistently, efficiently, and without reliance on individual knowledge. This role defines, maintains, and improves how products are assembled, tested, and supported in production. The Product Engineer is involved throughout the product lifecycle, from development through production, ensuring products are designed for manufacturability and successfully transitioned into stable, repeatable processes. By developing deep product understanding, the Product Engineer translates design intent into clear standard work, drives root cause resolution of issues, and continuously improves production performance, quality, and throughput. The role bridges development and production, enabling a manufacturing system that operates reliably and independently of constant engineering support. The Impact You’ll Make  The Product Engineer takes ownership of manufacturing processes, proactively identifying and addressing gaps to improve system performance while collaborating across teams to implement effective solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years’ experience in the field of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics or electronics
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or product engineering with hands-on experience supporting or improving production processes, standard work, or issue resolution

Nice To Haves

  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and corrective action (e.g., 5 Why, 8D, or similar methods)
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) or transitioning products into production
  • Ability to translate technical product knowledge into clear, usable processes for operators
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills across engineering, production, and quality teams
  • Experience with ERP Systems (SAP)

Responsibilities

  • Own and define the manufacturing system for assigned products, ensuring they are built consistently, efficiently, and without reliance on individual knowledge
  • Develop and maintain assembly processes, test methods, and standard work that are clear, repeatable, and scalable
  • Create, standardize and continuously improve visual Work Instructions that enable operators to execute without additional guidance
  • Develop deep understanding of product functionality, critical features, and failure modes to inform manufacturing processes
  • Translate design intent into manufacturable processes and support development teams with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) feedback
  • Ensure all production issues are identified, documented, and owned through a structured issue management process
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to eliminate repeat issues
  • Update processes and Work Instructions based on issues, improvements, and production feedback
  • Own and drive continuous improvement opportunities focused on yield, cycle time, quality, and production flow to reduce waste, rework, and inefficiencies in the manufacturing process
  • Apply structured problem-solving methods (e.g., 5 Why, 8D, Lean principles) to achieve measurable improvements
  • Engage with production to observe processes, validate changes, and identify gaps in clarity, tooling, or execution
  • Support the transition of new products from development into stable, repeatable production processes
  • Ensure manufacturing readiness through defined processes, documentation, and risk identification
