About The Position

This position is focused on ensuring the efficient and courteous delivery of blood and blood products to hospital partners and/or other agencies across the Central California Blood Center service area. The role involves transporting blood and blood products, picking up and delivering orders, specimens, equipment, and supplies to various facilities. The driver will also be responsible for resolving or escalating delivery issues, cultivating positive hospital relationships, maintaining accurate records, identifying potential hospital service issues, and performing duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Additionally, the position requires monitoring and maintaining vehicles, attending meetings, and demonstrating alignment with the company's core values. Consistent, on-time attendance is crucial, as are compliant meal and rest periods. The duties may expand based on business demands.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Must have a valid California driver’s license, and a clean driving history with no major violations in the last five years.

Nice To Haves

One year of customer service experience or prior courier experience, preferred
Previous experience in customer service or a related field preferred.
Excellent ability in providing professional, efficient, and friendly service.
Must be self-motivated and a team player.
Ability to coordinate with other departments on client-related matters.
Willingness to accept additional hours where necessary to meet operational needs.
Prior computer skills using Microsoft Office (primarily MS Word and Outlook).

Responsibilities

Transport blood/blood products to hospital partners.
Pickup and delivery of blood product orders, specimens, equipment, supplies to facilities across Fresno, Mariposa, Merced, Kings, and Tulare counties and may travel outside of this region as needed.
Resolves and/or escalates issues with delivery and/or access to products.
Cultivate positive hospital relationships.
Maintain accurate records.
Identify potential hospital service issues and implement proactive intervention measures.
Perform all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations, including blood handling process.
Immediately report any compliance issues to department management.
Monitor and maintain Hospital Services vehicles, updating records and charts as necessary.
Attend all 1:1 and department meetings as scheduled.
