About The Position

This position is with Henkel's Adhesive Technologies business unit, which focuses on providing customers with a competitive advantage through adhesives, sealants, and functional coatings. The role involves preparing and testing adhesive formulations, collaborating with chemists and scientists, and contributing to project success through problem-solving and accurate data documentation.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an associate’s degree in chemistry, biology or any science field.
  • Ability to gather, understand, and interpret chemical, physical and mechanical data.
  • Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic with a proactive, detail-oriented approach, supported by strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Understanding of mathematical and statistical techniques relevant to adhesive product testing.
  • Solid interpersonal skills. Candidate must be able to work as a team member and independently on multi-task assignments.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in chemistry, science, engineering or a science field.
  • Knowledgeable in Power Point, Word, Lotus Notes, Excel and Statistical Analysis Software (JMP) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and test adhesive formulations in accordance with established guidelines, working independently or in collaboration with chemists, scientists and technical staff.
  • Read and follow work instructions and safety data sheets (SDS) related to sample preparation, formulating adhesives and sample testing.
  • Employ basic problem-solving skills to overcome project bottlenecks and maintain project deliverable dates.
  • Accurately document test data in laboratory information systems. Communicates basic observations regarding data and/or experimental outcomes.
  • Utilize various computer systems to perform work and write internal and external final test reports.
  • Use a variety of curing and dispensing equipment.
  • Maintain calibration of laboratory instruments regularly to ensure reliability.
  • Maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment and support safe work practices, including the use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), adherence to site safety practices, use of laboratory equipment, 5S, etc.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
