About The Position

Ring Concierge is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Product Development Manager to lead jewelry product development from concept through launch. The role partners with domestic and international vendors to coordinate development, sampling, cross-sourcing, quality, costing, and documentation while keeping projects aligned with approved designs and timelines. The manager also works cross-functionally with Merchandising, Marketing, Creative, and Operations on launches, product education, and e-commerce and photoshoot needs. This is a full-time role based in the company's Midtown NYC office, with five days per week in office. Office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; days may extend beyond those hours, and weekends may be possible during busy seasons or sales. Estimated base compensation is $90,000+ and will be determined based on qualifications, skills, and experience.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in jewelry product development, production, or sourcing.
• Strong interest in jewelry design, materials, and craftsmanship.
• Highly organized, with exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and comfort working with vendors.
• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Direct-to-consumer (DTC) experience preferred.
• Experience with overseas vendors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage development projects from concept through production, ensuring alignment with approved designs, specifications, and timelines.
• Maintain the product development calendar, track milestones and sample status, anticipate delays, and recommend solutions.
• Maintain product development tools and files, including the PD Masterfile, Product Details Decks, and product knowledge files; record styles, revisions, materials, and approvals accurately.
• Coordinate sample requests, revisions, and approvals with domestic and international vendors, and follow up on outstanding items.
• Manage sample shipping, intake, and logs, and prepare samples for internal reviews.
• Review CADs and samples against specifications and reference samples; provide vendors with detailed feedback on dimensions, construction, materials, and finishes.
• Evaluate samples for workmanship, stone setting, finishing, plating, durability, and wearability, and ensure consistency across vendors.
• Track corrections through final approval and confirm specifications and documentation are complete for pre-launch sign-off.
• Coordinate packaging requirements for new launches.
• Support product costing, vendor quotes, and margin tracking; verify costs against specifications, including metal weights, stone counts, materials, and labor.
• Prepare comparative costing analyses for cross-sourced styles.
• Monitor gold and raw material markets and flag potential effects on costs and margins.
• Track sample costs and invoices in partnership with Accounts Payable.
• Source gemstones, diamonds, findings, and chain; compare price, availability, lead time, and vendor capability.
• Maintain a materials library and records of approved materials and specifications.
• Partner with Merchandising, Marketing, Creative, and Operations on launches, providing specifications and samples for photoshoots and e-commerce.
• Share regular status updates and prepare product education and launch materials.
• Use customer feedback, returns, and wear-test data to identify quality issues and implement improvements with vendors.
• Support competitive, trend, and materials research.
• Identify opportunities to improve product development processes and assist with engravable orders and ad hoc initiatives.
