Product Development Manager
About The Position
The Product Development Manager leads beverage and raw-material development projects with flavor houses, suppliers, and production facilities. The role manages reviews of formulas in SAP Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), ensuring they are accurate and ready for global production. It supports complex liquid-development programs by developing formulation specifications and coordinating analytical testing, stability testing, and sensory evaluation across the formula portfolio. The manager also provides technical support for formula-related issues affecting products in the field. The role leads the Technical Transfer Program using innovation learnings, including review of formula scale-up, stability, and stress tests. It oversees end-to-end formula reviews in SAP-PLM, maintaining data integrity and alignment with global quality and regulatory standards. The manager leads complex, cross-functional product-development projects and works with Technical Innovation, Regulatory, Quality Assurance, and Operations to resolve problems and align project deliverables, risk assessments, and technical decisions. For Americas products, the role serves as a technical escalation point to troubleshoot in-market issues and support continuity of quality and supply. Travel up to 40% is required.
Requirements
- More than 7 years of experience in beverage product development.
- More than 5 years of experience in other technical roles, such as quality, manufacturing, or technical services, with demonstrated understanding of ingredients, formulations, manufacturing, and supply chain.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and PLM systems; SAP experience.
- Ability to travel up to 40%.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline, such as Food Science or Food Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Master’s degree desired.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Technical Transfer Program, reviewing formula scale-up, stability, and stress tests based on innovation learnings.
- Manage end-to-end reviews of formulas in SAP-PLM to ensure accuracy, completeness, readiness for worldwide production, data integrity, and alignment with global quality and regulatory standards.
- Lead complex, cross-functional product-development projects with flavor houses, raw-material suppliers, and global production facilities to develop beverages and ingredient systems that meet technical, regulatory, and commercialization requirements.
- Develop and refine formulation specifications and coordinate analytical testing, stability studies, and sensory evaluations to ensure liquid performance across the product portfolio.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for in-market products in the Americas, troubleshooting formula-related issues and supporting continuity of product quality and supply.
- Collaborate with Technical Innovation, Regulatory, Quality Assurance, and Operations to solve problems, communicate formulation impacts, and align and execute project deliverables, risk assessments, and technical decisions.
