About The Position

To manage new product development and existing product development projects so they launch on time & achieve commercial targets. Achieve this through efficient collaboration with customer & internal functions in particular Procurement, Operations and Quality.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in at least 1 New Product Development Management role ideally working with one of the leading Canadian retailers or equivalent
  • 3 years in Product Development/Management
  • Experienced in presenting to and building strong relationships with retail Product Developers
  • 5 years in food manufacturing/retailing
  • Ability to spot emerging trends and initiatives within the food market
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrable experience of successful internal and external stakeholder relationship management
  • Graduate level capability
  • Strong project management skills
  • Can quickly adapt to change & manage multiple projects
  • Numerate, analytical and adept at Excel, Word & PowerPoint
  • A full driving licence

Responsibilities

  • Project Manage new products from start to launch following the New Product Development Stage & Gate Process
  • The main point of contact for customer product developers
  • Weekly meetings with customer developers
  • Communicate NPD Briefs from customers to wider business, set up and manage projects on internal system
  • Lead cross functional Feasibility Meetings to establish if & how concepts can be made and at what cost
  • Gather information for product costings based on new product development brief supplied by the customer and the Commercial team
  • Lead the presentation of product submissions to Walmart alongside the Commercial team
  • Refine and align products with customer feedback
  • Update relevant stakeholder as customer request changes to ensure product is still viable and any changes in cost are captured and communicated
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market launches to identify opportunities for growth and innovation
  • Handover customer approved concepts and documentation to Process & Site Teams for scale up but continue to lead project
  • Lead critical path management to Launch
  • Chair cross functional weekly product development meetings. Document actions and progress.
  • Gather data for Post Launch Evaluation 12 weeks after launch
