About The Position

The Product Development Intern supports product benchmarking and evaluation activities. The role prepares and maintains schedules for periodic evaluations of First Quality and competitive products by independent laboratories and may conduct internal testing and evaluation as needed, particularly for product changes and new product introductions. The intern maintains a searchable database of evaluation results and an inventory of retained competitive products, and develops and circulates reports on benchmarking activity, trends, and possible contributing factors.

The intern also assists with technical presentations for customers and new technical Sales staff, and with compiling product information and data for competitive bids and Sales presentations. The role provides recommendations for improvements to testing methods and equipment and for potential cost savings, and understands FDA, ISO, and other standards and regulations as they apply to First Quality. Other responsibilities may be assigned by the Product Development Manager.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain schedules for periodic evaluations of First Quality and competitive products by independent laboratories.
• Conduct internal tests and evaluations of First Quality and competitive products as needed, especially for product changes and new product introductions.
• Establish and maintain a searchable database of evaluation results.
• Maintain an inventory of retained competitive products.
• Develop and circulate benchmarking reports to designated individuals, emphasizing trends and possible contributing factors.
• Assist with technical presentations to customers and new technical Sales staff.
• Assist in preparing and compiling product information and data for competitive bids and Sales presentations.
• Recommend improvements to testing methods and equipment and identify potential cost savings.
• Understand FDA, ISO, and other standards and regulations as they apply to First Quality.
• Perform other responsibilities as requested by the Product Development Manager.
