About The Position

KLA’s Semiconductor Products and Customers business unit designs, builds, and sells products that help chip manufacturers meet high-quality standards. The Broadband Plasma division develops optical inspection systems used by logic, foundry, and memory customers to detect critical defects at advanced nodes. The Product Development Engineering Intern will support engineering work on these systems. The role involves checking system health, calibrating and troubleshooting equipment, collecting and analyzing data, and helping characterize and validate system performance against engineering requirements. The intern will design and run experiments, document and present results, collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, and develop scripts or utilities to automate analysis, testing, and other engineering processes.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a master's or Ph.D. degree in an engineering field.
  • Background in engineering or physics; optics experience is preferred.
  • Experience with basic image-processing operations such as filtering, target finding, alignment, and coordinate systems.
  • Ability to parse data from sources such as text files, HTML, CSV, and other file formats.
  • Experience with Python, MATLAB, or other scripting languages.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Less than one year of related experience.
