About The Position

LG Electronics is seeking a Product Development Engineer II to join its HVAC R&D Center in Alpharetta, Georgia. This role will focus on developing expertise in the manufacturing and development of LGE HVAC equipment to provide enhanced customer value through analytical thinking and market understanding. The position is part of LG's effort to strengthen its US-based HVAC Research and Innovation capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 1+ years of experience.
  • Exposure to a variety of manufacturing processes and designing for manufacturability.
  • Ability to multi-task and operate independently.
  • 3D CAD software knowledge and interpreting drawings with knowledge in GD&T.
  • Proficient, high-level skills in Microsoft Power Point and Excel with macro for programming.

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC experience is preferred.
  • Experience with one of the following agency certifications (CSA, UL, or DOE) is a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal problem solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide HVAC Engineering insight and improvement solutions for new HVAC product development.
  • Screen, analyze, and support new HVAC product performance, providing recommendations for next steps.
  • Statistically evaluate and interpret collected product data.
  • Evaluate, analyze, and support data collected from field-based testing using a statistical approach.
  • Review shortcomings and faults of current designs to identify weaknesses and areas for improvement.
  • Communicate and support various HVAC R&D and factory laboratories to provide US usage-based engineering and design statistics.
  • Understand and support acquisition hardware/software to create acquisition models for lab purposes.
  • Assist in the preparation of service manuals, installation manuals, and engineering manuals for US commercialization post-product launch.
