About The Position

The Product Development and Design Assistant supports the Product Development & Design team in creating, developing, and executing each season’s Own Brand assortments, from initial concept through production. The role contributes to research and design, seasonal print and graphic development, preparation of presentation materials, design sketches, product documentation, sample management, reviews, and communication with cross-functional partners. Other duties may be assigned or required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Fashion or Art, or equivalent experience and education.
1–7 years of experience in Women’s Fashion Design or Apparel Product Development.
Keen eye for color, trend, detail, and construction.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize based on business objectives.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Basic knowledge of design, apparel construction, and textiles.
Ability to understand and analyze market and trend information.

Responsibilities

Assist the Product Development and Design team with research and design for silhouette, graphic, and artwork trends.
Assist with print and graphic development for each season.
Review lab dips, artwork strike-offs, and hand-looms for layout and execution.
Assist with preparing seasonal presentation boards for milestone meetings.
Sketch designs in Illustrator and communicate construction details.
Prepare PLM packages and Assortment Line Sheets, and update them as needed.
Maintain organized sample racks and submit files.
Participate in sample reviews and fit sessions.
Assist with related communication to cross-functional partners.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
