About The Position

The Product Developer reports to the Director of Innovation and plays a key role in bringing new products and customer initiatives from concept to successful commercialization. This customer-facing position is responsible for managing and coordinating the end-to-end product commercialization process, ensuring projects are delivered on time, aligned with customer expectations, and executed successfully across the business. Working closely with customers, Sales, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams, the Product Developer serves as the central project lead for product launches, scale-up activities, and commercialization initiatives. While some product development and laboratory work may be required, the primary focus of the role is project execution, industrialization, customer collaboration, and commercial readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing, product development, commercialization, or project management
  • Experience leading product launches, commercialization initiatives, or scale-up activities
  • Experience working with retail, foodservice, or private label customers
  • Customer-facing experience and strong stakeholder management skills
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with project management tools, including Monday.com or similar platforms
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercialization of new products and customer initiatives from concept approval through launch
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, risks, and cross-functional milestones
  • Coordinate activities across R&D, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, and Sales teams
  • Facilitate project meetings and provide regular status updates to stakeholders
  • Identify and resolve project challenges to support successful product launches
  • Deliver project milestones on time and in alignment with commercial launch timelines
  • Monitor launch readiness and support issue resolution during commercialization
  • Support continuous improvement of commercialization processes, tools, and best practices
  • Develop and optimize control processes, SOPs, and technical tools to support product industrialization
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, and Production teams to ensure seamless technical transfer from development to manufacturing
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to define, plan, and implement capabilities required for new product launches
  • Drive scalability and manufacturability of new products through robust industrialization processes
  • Coordinate plant trials, scale-up activities, and initial production runs
  • Validate product viability during production, freezing, storage, and distribution
  • Ensure product specifications, documentation, and technical requirements are completed and maintained
  • Serve as a customer-facing partner throughout the commercialization process
  • Participate in customer meetings, product reviews, and launch activities
  • Translate customer requirements into project plans and deliverables
  • Act as a liaison between customers and cross-functional teams to support successful execution
  • Support product development, evaluations, and product improvements
  • Participate in product trials and validation activities
  • Collaborate with internal teams to meet customer, quality, and operational requirements
