Product Designer

AAPCSalt Lake City, UT

About The Position

AAPC is seeking a product designer who builds, not just designs. This remote role involves taking early-stage concepts and rapidly producing functional, AI-assisted prototypes using the company's existing codebase and design system. The focus is on turning ambiguity into working software, owning the end-to-end UX process from discovery to iteration, and testing designs with real users. The ideal candidate will have strong UX fundamentals, be comfortable working with AI-assisted development, and be adept at communicating design decisions across different teams. This is not a visual design or brand role, but rather one focused on user experience and rapid prototyping within an established design system.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional UX or product design experience, with a focus on shipped products and critical thinking.
  • Demonstrated fluency in working with AI tools as part of the design process (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Figma Make, v0).
  • Working fluency in a codebase: ability to read components, wire up screens, understand a design system expressed in code, and work in a branch without causing issues.
  • Demonstrated UX substance, including research, flows, IA, user journeys, and usability testing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Figma skills.
  • Real intellectual curiosity and initiative to find answers.
  • Hands-on experience with A/B testing and data-informed iteration.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with VWO or a comparable A/B testing platform.
  • Familiarity with Jira and agile product development.
  • Design system contribution experience, especially where design tokens and code stayed in sync.
  • Front-end fundamentals (React, Tailwind, or similar) beyond AI assistance.
  • Range across multiple industries or product categories.
  • Exposure to healthcare, education and e-learning, professional associations, or membership organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Turn ambiguity into working software.
  • Build prototypes in the company's codebase using AI assistance.
  • Hold the line on the design system by using existing components and extending them deliberately when necessary.
  • Own UX end to end, including discovery, flows, IA, interaction design, launch, and post-launch iteration.
  • Design and run usability studies and A/B tests.
  • Design for a demanding audience of working professionals.
  • Use Figma for system contributions, alignment artifacts, and detailed handoff.
  • Partner with product, marketing, and engineering teams, presenting thinking in clear, accessible language.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Health Savings Account (HSA)
  • Generous PTO and paid holidays
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Fully remote work environment
