About The Position

Spectrum Industries, Inc. is seeking a Product Designer to take a project from prototype and/or modeled state and develop production drawings, bill of materials, and specifications to ensure the new or modified product is production ready. This role involves performing complex design investigations, analyses, feasibility studies, and CAD design for new components or products using customer-supplied data. The Product Designer will use CAD equipment to develop and/or modify models for manufacturing of prototypes, evaluate prototypes for design modifications to product performance, safety, marketability, and/or reliability, and recommend and implement design changes to meet customer expectations or resolve field problems. This role also includes researching (including cost analysis) components for new or revised product designs and evaluating, recommending, and implementing revised product designs for product feasibility and manufacturability. Secondary responsibilities include evaluating and processing Engineering Change Requests by updating production drawings, bill of materials, and specifications, and representing the best interest and integrity of the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four year college/university in Product/Mechanical design or a related field
  • One to three years of related work experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, recommend and implement revised product designs for product feasibility and manufacturability
  • Evaluate and process Engineering Change Requests by updating production drawings, bill of materials and specifications
  • Represent and preserve the best interest and integrity of the company whenever and wherever possible
  • Other duties as assigned
