The Product Designer will research and develop footwear products from conception to retail, meeting the needs of accounts and consumers. The role focuses on supporting design for cleated footwear—including cricket, football, and baseball—for the Field Sports footwear design team. The designer generates new approaches to performance-based products that create growth opportunities and competitive advantages, and collaborates with product creation teams to develop concepts for Nike business units. The role defines testing protocols and scopes, develops consumer- and performance-informed insights, applies new technologies and construction processes, delivers proofs of concept, identifies product construction materials and processes, and engineers prototypes. The position leads innovation projects with multidisciplinary teams that may include product creation, manufacturing, and third-party vendors. It also involves drafting reports, presenting results and market concepts at the functional department level, and communicating knowledge and best practices to support the transition of technology into products. This is an on-site role at PHK in Beaverton, Oregon, with a typical 4/1 hybrid schedule; some Fridays may require on-site work based on business needs. The contract is expected to last approximately eight months and will support an FTE leave. A portfolio is required with submissions; candidates without one will be disqualified. A degree is preferred but not required.
