Product Designer

LumionSouth Jordan, UT
Onsite

About The Position

Lumion is seeking its first dedicated product designer to own the design across its entire platform. Lumion provides an all-in-one operating system for trade and technical schools, managing everything from lead generation and enrollment to student lifecycle management and payments. The company is backed by TTV Capital and Tusk Venture Partners. This role is crucial as the company's growth has outpaced the current design capabilities, which have been handled by founders, product managers, and engineers. The product designer will be responsible for setting the standard for design in a market often characterized by outdated software, working directly with the CEO and CTO to define and execute the product's vision.

Requirements

  • Shipped complex B2B software, including data-dense admin tools, multi-step workflows, and permissioned dashboards.
  • Strong craft in typography, spacing, hierarchy, color, empty states, and error states.
  • Proficiency in prototyping and an iterative approach, preferring interactive prototypes over polished mockups.
  • Ability to write clear and effective interface copy, including labels, empty states, and error messages.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and a focus on shipped work over credentials.
  • Fluency with AI design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma's AI features, Lovable, v0, or code-based prototyping).

Responsibilities

  • Own design across the entire platform, from PRD to shipped features, including user flows, interaction design, high-fidelity UI, and engineer-ready specs.
  • Create clickable, testable prototypes rapidly to gather feedback from real schools before engineering commits to a build.
  • Build a design system, including a component library and interaction patterns, to ensure a cohesive product experience and enable engineers to ship good UI independently.
  • Design AI interfaces for configuring and supervising AI agents used by schools for student outreach.
  • Design student-facing surfaces for enrollment applications, document signing, and tuition payments, focusing on effortless user experiences on mobile devices.
