About The Position

Minno is seeking a Product Designer to lead the end-to-end product experience for children and families across its digital platforms. The role involves designing intuitive, joyful, and age-appropriate experiences that enable children to safely discover and engage with faith-based content, while also building trust with parents and caregivers. This position is ideal for a product designer with substantial experience in designing and shipping digital products specifically for children, understanding that child-facing UX requires careful consideration of navigation, cognitive load, safety, delight, accessibility, parent confidence, and engagement. The designer will collaborate with Product, Engineering, Content, Marketing, and Research teams to enhance core user journeys such as onboarding, content discovery, search, browse, playback, profiles, and parental controls. Key responsibilities include establishing Minno's product design system, improving design-to-engineering collaboration, and fostering a product design culture informed by insights from children and families. This is a hands-on role, requiring a blend of strong UX and product thinking with the ability to deliver polished work efficiently in partnership with Product and Engineering. The ultimate goal is to make Minno's digital products more cohesive, trustworthy, engaging, and mission-aligned, ensuring positive interactions for families and helping children experience Jesus daily.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of UI/UX, product design, or interaction design experience with demonstrated growth in scope and ownership
  • Strong, direct experience designing shipped digital products for kids, children, or family audiences
  • A portfolio showing end-to-end product thinking: problem definition, audience, research, flows, interaction design, visual craft, tradeoffs, shipped work, and impact
  • Deep understanding of age-appropriate UX, including cognitive load, reading level, navigation simplicity, motor skills, tap targets, safety, delight, and parent trust
  • Strong comfort operating in ambiguity and rapidly evolving product environments where speed, iteration, and product judgment matter more than rigid process
  • Strong Figma skills, including components, variants, prototyping, design systems, responsive states, annotations, and engineering handoff
  • Experience designing consumer digital products across mobile, web, tablet, streaming, connected TV, or similar multi-platform environments
  • Ability to work closely with Product and Engineering from early concept through launch, QA, and iteration
  • Strong visual and interaction design craft with excellent judgment around simplicity, hierarchy, motion, feedback, and brand expression
  • Genuine alignment with Minno's Christian mission and enthusiasm for serving kids and families

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in kids streaming, children's media, EdTech, family subscription apps, kids games, or interactive learning products
  • Experience designing for both child users and parent/caregiver users in the same product ecosystem
  • Hands-on experience with streaming, video, audio, content discovery, recommendations, or media playback experiences
  • Experience building or maintaining a design system in a small or scaling product organization
  • Experience using research, usability testing, product analytics, A/B testing, or behavioral data to prioritize and evaluate UX improvements
  • Comfort designing across connected TV, tablet, mobile, and web where interaction models differ by platform
  • Familiarity with COPPA-aware, privacy-conscious, accessible, and non-manipulative design patterns for children and families
  • Comfort using AI tools to accelerate research synthesis, ideation, prototyping, and design production while maintaining strong product judgment
  • Background in faith-based, values-driven, family, or children's media
  • Illustration, animation, or motion design skills that strengthen child-facing product moments
  • Experience with accessibility for neurodiverse children or inclusive design for different ages and abilities
  • Experience with content taxonomy, metadata, playlists, recommendations, or personalized discovery
  • Experience designing parental controls, kids profiles, household settings, trust and safety surfaces, or similar family product features

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end UX and UI design for Minno's kid and family digital product experiences across web, mobile, tablet, streaming, audio, and future platforms
  • Design age-appropriate, intuitive, joyful experiences that help kids safely discover, choose, watch, listen, and engage with faith-based content
  • Improve core product journeys including onboarding, content discovery, search, browse, playback, profiles, parental controls, and subscription-related flows
  • Build and maintain a scalable design system, including reusable components, interaction patterns, responsive states, accessibility standards, and design documentation
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Content, Marketing, and Research from early problem definition through launch, QA, and iteration
  • Translate insights from kids, parents, caregivers, research, analytics, and support feedback into practical product improvements
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, user flows, high-fidelity designs, interaction specs, and production-ready handoff materials
  • Design with safety, trust, accessibility, privacy, and parent confidence in mind, especially for child-facing and family-facing experiences
  • Use product data, usability findings, and strong design judgment to identify friction points and prioritize improvements
  • Bring a proactive design point of view to Minno's product roadmap, helping shape what best-in-class kids and family digital experiences should feel like
