Jeppesen ForeFlight is seeking a well-established Product Designer to join our General Aviation design team and help shape the future of the ForeFlight experience for pilots worldwide. This role is ideal for a designer who enjoys solving complex workflow challenges, crafting intuitive mobile and web experiences, and designing products that pilots rely on in high-focus operational environments. You’ll work closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, and senior designers to improve critical workflows across flight planning, navigation, weather, charts, aircraft management, and in-flight decision-making. If you are a thoughtful and collaborative designer with strong interaction design fundamentals, attention to detail, and a growing ability to navigate ambiguity. You’re comfortable contributing throughout the product development lifecycle, from early concepts and workflows through polished production-ready designs, while balancing customer needs, technical constraints, and business goals.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across product, engineering, and design teams
  • 2-4 years of experience designing digital products across mobile and/or web platforms
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong interaction design, systems thinking, and polished visual execution
  • Experience contributing to end-to-end product design projects from concept through implementation
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and interaction design best practices
  • Ability to simplify complex workflows and information-rich experiences
  • Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, workflows, and high-fidelity UI designs
  • Comfort working in evolving product spaces with guidance and collaboration from senior teammates
  • Familiarity with usability testing, customer feedback, and iterative design processes
  • Experience using Figma and modern prototyping/design tools

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing workflow-heavy, operational, or data-rich applications
  • Experience designing data visualization, operational dashboards, or geospatial/mapping interfaces
  • Exposure to AI-assisted design or development workflows using tools like Claude Code or Codex
  • Passion for aviation or experience as a pilot, student pilot, or aviation enthusiast

Responsibilities

  • Design user-centered experiences across ForeFlight’s General Aviation products on iOS, iPadOS, and web platforms
  • Contribute to features and workflows that support pilots before, during, and after flight
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, and senior designers throughout the design process
  • Participate in discovery work to better understand pilot workflows, operational challenges, and customer needs
  • Translate complex aviation workflows, operational data, and regulatory considerations into intuitive and approachable user experiences
  • Create wireframes, workflows, prototypes, and polished UI designs with strong attention to usability, accessibility, and craft
  • Explore multiple concepts and iterate quickly based on feedback, research, and product direction
  • Support user validation activities including interviewing, usability testing, concept testing, and customer feedback sessions
  • Help design for operational clarity, edge cases, and user trust in high-context aviation environments
  • Partner with engineering to ensure high-quality implementation and smooth delivery to production
  • Contribute to design systems, interaction patterns, documentation, and team best practices
  • Participate actively in design critiques, workshops, and cross-functional collaboration sessions
  • Use modern design and prototyping tools including Figma and AI-assisted workflows where appropriate
