About The Position
Realtor.com® is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join the Avail team. This role is integral to the performance and operation of a product squad, where the designer will partner directly with a Product Manager and engineers throughout the entire product development lifecycle. This includes initial research, understanding user problems, scoping, creating user journeys, and delivering polished designs for landlords and renters. The designer will be the primary designer on their squad, with senior design resources available for mentorship and growth. Avail is a SaaS platform designed for independent landlords managing 1-10 units and their renters, offering a full suite of products for listings, tenant screening, leasing, rent collection, and maintenance. The designer will be responsible for creating experiences for both landlords and renters, balancing their distinct needs within a connected platform. This role is embedded within a cross-functional product squad, where the designer is a peer and not a support function, contributing to squad rituals, planning, and problem-solving from the outset. The squad collectively discovers, defines, and delivers solutions, granting the designer ownership over the design direction for their product area.
Requirements
- 5+ years working in the design industry
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years working in a product-led organization
- Portfolio that demonstrates a growing design point of view and includes examples of interaction flows, prototyping, and high-fidelity work
- Familiar with user-centric processes and design thinking principles
- Experience working on cross-disciplined teams
- Clear communication skills
- Informed and strong opinions, loosely held

- AI-Driven Design Workflows: Designers who are already using AI as part of their process (e.g., LLM-assisted tools for research synthesis, generating UI concepts, working with prototype-driven iteration).
Responsibilities
- Partner with your Product Manager and engineers to be the voice of the user, exploring multiple ideas while knowing when to bring the work to an executable deliverable
- Collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders, including researchers, product leaders, engineers, product marketing, brand, and other designers, on complex problems
- Quickly collaborate on solutions that materially improve the user experience across the products your squad supports
- Lead most aspects of the design process from conception to completion, with the oversight and assistance of senior design leaders
- Articulate the value of design and the reasons for your design decisions clearly to design leaders, peers, and your product squad
- Regularly seek out and receive design feedback with professionalism and patience. Demonstrate improvements in your craft based on feedback received
- Use our design system and ensure accurate, quality application of components to your products, while also identifying needs for new patterns
- Be willing to temporarily help other product squads with design needs when the need arises
- Set goals with your manager and pursue learning opportunities and areas of professional interest
